Ever since Disney announced the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel, the biggest question on people’s minds is: “How much does it cost?” Now we have an answer to that question since Disney has just revealed the pricing for the experience, and it isn’t cheap!

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Prices and Cost

On Disney’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser website they have listed all the prices and the full itinerary and everything included in the experience.

Let’s just start out by saying, the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is one of, if not the most expensive experience Disney has ever created. We knew all along this was going to be expensive, but when broken down on a price per guest basis, it’s the most expensive hotel at Walt Disney World, and it isn’t close.

Room Prices

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Room Prices

Prices for your stay on the Galactic Starcruiser vary depending on group size, cabin type, and the dates you choose to visit.

Just to get the big number you are waiting for out of the way, a 2-night, 2-day stay on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser starts at $4,809 for a 2 guest room.

Yes, you heard me right. Almost $5,000 for a 2-night stay in the Star Wars Hotel. I told you it wasn’t cheap!

Prices are broken down into a per guest, per night basis and set up very similar to cruise pricing. The smaller your group, the more you pay per person. If you have more people in your party, you will end up paying less per person.

On top of that, there are 3 room types: Standard Cabin, Galaxy Class Suite, and a Grand Captain Suite. The bigger the room, the more expensive it is.

Here is the pricing for a standard cabin in Late August-September:

2 Guests Per Cabin:

  • $1,209 per guest, per night
  • $4,809 voyage total

3 Guests Per Cabin (2 Adults, 1 Child):

  • $889 per guest, per night
  • $5,299 voyage total

4 Guests Per Cabin (3 Adults, 1 Child):

  • $749 per guest, per night
  • $5,999 voyage total

Now, it’s important to keep in mind, these are for Late-August and September, traditionally one of the cheapest times of the year to go to Disney World. Considering the Deluxe Resorts can increase the price per night to 50-60% from the value season to the holidays, it’s possible these prices will be exponentially higher during the busy seasons.

At that point, we are likely talking about $6,000-$7,000 per night for a 2 Guest Cabin and $10,000 for a 4 Guest Cabin, not to mention the more expensive room types.

What’s Included in the Price?

Similar to cruise pricing, more than just your room is included in the price. Meals and entertainment are all part of the experience and they are included in the cost.

  • 2-night stay in a cabin or suite
  • Ongoing, immersive and interactive entertainment, where choices determine your experience
  • Food and beverages on the starcruiser (excluding alcoholic and specialty beverages) and a quick-service meal at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo or other select locations at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • Admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for your planetary excursion to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for one day, on day two
  • Valet parking
  • Exclusive Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser databand (known on your home planet as a MagicBand)

Of course, not everything is included in the base price. You will have to pay extra for alcoholic and specialty beverages for example.

We also imagine there will be unique merchandise and shopping opportunities, because, well, it’s Disney. And we also can see additional entertainment or exclusive missions/experiences being added on for an additional cost too.

Dining Prices

All of your meals are included in the price of your room and there are 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch, and 2 dinners during your stay. Let’s look at what’s included:

Galactic Starcruiser Breakfast

Breakfast

Both of these will take place on the Galactic Starcruiser in the glamorous Crown of Corellia Dining Room. The first is on day 2, and the second breakfast is on day 3, right before departure. Guests will have 1 hour to eat breakfast.

Breakfast includes hot and cold small plates and a variety of beverages including juices, fresh-brewed coffee, and Bubo Wamba Family Farms blue milk.

Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo Hollywood Studios

Lunch

Because of the way arrival and departure times are organized, there is only 1 lunch during your entire stay. It is not onboard the Galactic Starcruiser, however, and instead, it happens on day 2 during your trip down to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios.

The lunch will take place at Docking Bay 7: Food and Cargo, a quick service restaurant in Batuu, or another quick service restaurant in Hollywood Studios. Guests have one hour to eat and enjoy the unique theming of the restaurant. This all happens after you get to ride both Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

We would assume that one entree and side, plus beverage will be included in the price. You will likely use your Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser databand (MagicBand) to redeem your meal as you do if you were using the Disney Dining Plan.

Galactic Starcruiser Dinner Tray

Dinner

Lastly, and best of all are the dinners. This looks like it will be one of the highlights of the entire Star Wars hotel experience. Included in the price are 2 dinners.

On the first night of your stay, dinner is in the Crown of Corellia Dining Room which transforms for dinner into an enticing table-service supper club with a special musical appearance by a galactic superstar.

This is a unique dining and entertainment experience and you can also socialize with passengers and crew.

The second night, The Taste Around the Galaxy showcases courses inspired by the geography and environments of iconic destination planets throughout the galaxy. With the serving of each course, a brief introduction presents the name, inspiration, and ingredients for the dishes. The meal includes group appetizers for the table, a choice of entrée, and a specialty plated dessert.

There are two seatings for dinner each night and when you book your hotel stay you can request your seating preference.

Galactic Starcruiser Captain's Table Experience

Captain’s Table

There is also an upgraded dinner at the Captain’s Table which comes at an additional cost. Think of this like a Chef’s Table dining experience you find in other Disney restaurants.

Guests sit at the captain’s table in a prime location in the center of the Crown of Corellia Dining Room. Guest are served extra courses that you don’t get with the regular dining experience.

Is the Galactic Starcruiser Worth the High Price?

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Concept Art

A family of 4 is going to spend a minimum of $6,000 on the hotel alone, not to mention travel expenses to get to Orlando, plus any additional days spent at Walt Disney World. In that case, you are easily talking about a $10,000 vacation or more.

As you can see, the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for most guests and it’s going to be very expensive. The majority of visitors to Walt Disney World will probably not be able to afford or justify paying such high prices for a 2-day experience.

On the other hand, the Galactic Starcruiser is small, and with only 100 guest cabins, we’re sure Disney is going to have enough people that are excited about this experience and they won’t find it difficult to fill up the rooms.

Will the Star Wars hotel be worth the price? Is it worth taking out a second mortgage on your home just to go?

Like any high-end luxury item, the actual cost is usually not worth the huge difference in price between it and the next model down.

Just to make a comparison, during the same time of the year (August/September) you can get a room at the Polynesian Village Resort for approximately $650 per night. That means you could stay there for 9 nights and still have some money left over. Let’s call it 8 nights if you want to include the value of the meals included in the Galactic Starcruiser experience.

Either way, it will be interesting to see what guests think once they experience the hotel and if it’s worth the high cost. Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser opens in Spring 2022 so we don’t have that much longer to find out.
