If you have a big family, visiting Walt Disney World can be a big challenge, especially when trying to decide where to stay. That’s why we came up with this ranking of the Best Suites at Disney World and rooms for large families.
In this post, we are going to share our list of the best suites at Disney World and rank them from best to worst. There are dozens of different suites to choose from for guests with large families or even if they are just looking for some extra space.
Most standard hotel rooms on Walt Disney World property can hold either 4 or 5 guests, and if your group is bigger than that and wants to all stay together, you’ll need a suite.
We’ll go over the various suites available in each resort class (Deluxe, Moderate, Value, and Villas). That’s right, just because you hear the word “suite” used, that doesn’t necessarily mean it will be outside your budget, there are some surprisingly reasonable options to choose from too.
Sure, if you want to, you can rent a house outside Disney World or get an Airbnb, but there are also on-site suites if you want to stay inside the “Disney Bubble” for your entire vacation.
We’ll break down the maximum guest occupancy for each suite, how much they cost, and all the amenities included in them. Then we’ll tell you if we think they are worth the higher price, and some lower-priced options you have.
Keep in mind, our list is very subjective, and it’s based on our experiences staying at these resorts. We’ve tried to rank the resorts based on what type of suites they offer and how well-suited they are for large families. You may have had different experiences or you think certain resorts cater better to large groups, and if so, let us know in the comments below which are your favorites and why.
And if you haven’t had the chance to read them yet, here are some of our best posts on Disney World Resorts:

Disney World Suites Overview
While each of the Disney World Resorts has unique personalities and characteristics, many are surprised to know that several Disney Resorts are home to larger suites, accommodating significantly larger families and groups.
Staying in a Disney World suite can be an outstanding way for families with larger parties to be able to share the same space while possibly saving a little bit of money. In this article, we are going to focus on the different Disney resorts that have suites and what families can expect when staying at each one.
We will focus on suites in each tier of Disney Resort (Value, Moderate, and Deluxe) enabling you to decide which resort, if any, will best accommodate the needs of your group.
- What are your interests?
- What is your budget?
- How close do you want to be to the Disney parks?
- How much space do you need?
- What bedding situation would be most ideal?
We will answer all of those questions in this article. So let’s get into it!
How Many People Can Fit in a Disney Suite?
The amount of people that can fit in a Disney Suite relies on several different factors. Depending on the Disney resort you choose, you can find a Disney Suite that will fit the needs of your family from anywhere from 5-12 people!
What Does a Family Suite Include at Disney World?
Family suites are a comfortable option for larger families offering more space and privacy than a typical standard hotel room. They also come with a variety of other amenities that can contribute to your stay being slightly more relaxed.
Family suites at Disney World include separate bedrooms, bathrooms, and living areas. They normally come with kitchenettes with refrigerators and microwaves, allowing you to cook and prepare basic meals within your room.
Some of the larger family suites or ‘villas’ include full kitchens allowing you to prepare more elaborate meals within your room.
The bedding situation can vary depending on which resort you’re staying at but typically they have either pull-down Murphy beds or sofa beds in the living areas.
Which Walt Disney World Resorts Have Suites?
There is a nice assortment of Walt Disney World Resorts that have suites, meeting the needs of families with significant budget differences.
In total, there are 26 different Disney resorts that have suites. In this article, we will break down each of these resorts into four categories: Value, Moderate, Deluxe, and Deluxe Villas.
Each of these categorized resorts has suites that can appeal to families of differing budgets. We will touch on the prices, maximum guest capacity, as well as room options in each of these suites.
Disney Value Resorts
Disney Value Resorts appeal to more budget-conscious travelers and can be a way for larger families to stay within the same walls while still being in the ‘Disney Bubble.’
The Disney Value Resorts that have suites are:
- Disney’s All-Star Music Resort – (Up to 6 Guests in a Family Suite)
- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort – (Up to 6 Guests in a Family Suite)
Disney Moderate Resorts
Disney’s Moderate Resorts are a nice blend of additional amenities and extra square footage while also being significantly more affordable than Deluxe and Deluxe Villas.
There are two Disney resorts that fit within the ‘Moderate’ category with suites and they are:
- The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort – (Up to 6 Guests in a Cabin)
- Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort – (Up to 6 Guests in a Suite)
Disney Deluxe Resorts
Disney’s Deluxe Resorts are the ‘cream of the crop’ when it comes to the top-end of Disney excellence. They are spacious while also featuring the best of Disney detail and theming. These resorts also feature the largest number of activities and entertainment offerings for all members of the family.
The resorts in the ‘Deluxe’ category with suites are:
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – (Up to 8 Guests in a Suite)
- Disney’s Beach Club Resort – (Up to 7 Guests in a Suite)
- Disney’s Boardwalk Inn – (Up to 8 Guests in a Suite)
- Disney’s Contemporary Resort – (Up to 8 Guests in a Suite)
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa – (Up to 8 Guests in a Suite)
- Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort – (Up to 9 Guests in a Suite)
- Disney’s Wilderness Lodge – (Up to 6 Guests in a Club Level Room)
- Disney’s Yacht Club Resort – (Up to 6 Guests in a Suite)
- Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Resort – (Up to 8 Guests in a Suite)
Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts
Disney’s Deluxe Villa Resorts are Disney Vacation Club timeshare properties that have a large variety of different suites, many of them fitting up to 12 guests. These can be booked directly through Disney or they can be booked through DVC owners directly or a travel agent.
Deluxe Villas are attached to Disney’s Deluxe Resorts so those that stay at the Deluxe Villas get all of the same amenities and access as guests staying in a typical room at a Disney Deluxe Resort.
The main difference between villas and suites is that the Deluxe Villa rooms tend to be more ‘homey’ with additional amenities inside the room, and they can be larger as well.
The resorts that fit within the ‘Deluxe Villa’ category are:
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House – (Up to 12 Guests in a Villa)
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village – (Up to 12 Guests in a Villa)
- Disney’s Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary Resort – (Up to 12 Guests in Villa)
- Disney’s Beach Club Villas – (Up to 8 Guests in a Villa)
- Disney’s Boardwalk Villas – (Up to 12 Guests in a Villa)
- Disney’s Boulder Ridge Villas at the Wilderness Lodge Resort – (Up to 12 Guests in a Villa)
- Disney’s Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at the Wilderness Lodge Resort – (Up to 12 Guests in a Cabin)
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Villas – (Up to 12 Guests in a Villa)
- Disney’s Old Key West Resort – (Up to 12 Guests in a Villa)
- Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows – (Up to 8 Guests in a Bungalow)
- Disney’s Riviera Resort – (Up to 12 Guests in a Villa)
- Disneys’ Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa – (Up to 12 Guests in a Villa)
- Disney’s Treehouse Villas at the Saratoga Springs Resort – (Up to 12 Guests in a Treehouse)
Best Way to Save Big $$$ on Disney Resorts
If you want to potentially save thousands of dollars on your next trip to Disney World, I personally recommend David’s DVC Rentals. They consistently have the best prices and biggest selection of Disney Villas that will make you ask yourself: “How do they do it?”
Disney World Suites vs. DVC Villas
While both Disney World Suites and Disney World Villas can be great options for larger groups, there are a few distinguishing factors to consider when comparing the two:
Traits of Disney World Suites
- Typically have a max of 6-8 guests
- ‘Normal’ hotel room feel and a regular part of the hotel
- Daily housekeeping service
- ALWAYS have two full bathrooms
- Queen-sized bed in the master bedroom
Traits of Disney World Villas
- Some Villas include up to (3) bedrooms and allow up to 12 people
- Villas are Disney Vacation Club Properties that are more ‘homey’ in feel
- Generally connected via walkway to the main part of the hotel
- They include FULL kitchens and washers and dryers
- Smaller 1-bedroom villas generally only include one bathroom (Bay Lake Tower and Kidani Village are the exceptions)
- King-sized bed in the master bedroom
- Housekeeping and trash/towel service only on day 4 and day 7 of your trip
These are some of the general differences between the two. There are a few exceptions but in general Disney World Suites are like a normal hotel room just bigger and in the regular part of the hotel.
Disney World Villas are more catered to Disney Vacation Club members and have more homey characteristics. They also can be larger and appeal to families of up to 12 guests. But both are great for larger groups and we’ve enjoyed staying at both!
If you are interested in staying at one of the Disney Deluxe Villas, we recommend David’s DVC Rentals the most. They are reliable, offer the best prices, and have the best selection of rooms available.
Which Disney World Resort Hotels Sleep 5 Guests?
While it’s true that most standard rooms at Disney World Resort Hotels only fit up to 4 guests, there are some exceptions for families that have 5 people. Many families struggle with wondering what to do in this situation and wondering if they need to book two rooms to accommodate their family. The answer is no!
Disney does a fantastic job of keeping families of all sizes pleased whether you have a larger budget or a smaller budget. And while it’s easier to find rooms that are affordable if you only have 4 guests, there are a number of options in all of the different hotel tiers for families of 5.
Here are all of the Disney Resort Resorts and Villas that will accommodate families of 5 people, broken up by hotel tier:
Value Resorts
- Disney’s All-Star Music Resort
- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
- The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort
Moderate Resorts
- Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
- Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
- The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Cabins
- Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside
Deluxe Resorts & Deluxe Villas
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas (Jambo House & Kidani Village)
- Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- Disney’s Beach Club Resort
- Disney’s Beach Club Villas
- Disney’s Boardwalk Inn
- Disney’s Boardwalk Villas
- Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
- Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Villas
- Disney’s Old Key West Resort
- Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
- Disney’s Riviera Resort
- Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
- Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
- Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
Which Disney Value Resort is Known for Its Family Suites?
When people think of ‘Family Suites’ at Disney World they often first think of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. It’s known for being the home of family suites with the majority of the resort full of their famed family suites. In total, they have 1120 family suites which each feature a 565 square foot blueprint.
The Art of Animation Resort has four themed areas based on classic movies including Cars, Lion King, Little Mermaid, and Finding Nemo. Only the Little Mermaid section of the resort does NOT have family suites, instead, it only has standard rooms fitting 4 guests.
However, that’s not the only option for family suites at the Value Resort level. Disney’s All-Star Music Resort also has family suites that can fit up to 6 people, and they are even cheaper than the ones at Art of Animation.

Disney Suite Types
When it comes to the types of different Disney Suites, there are several different options. And while all sizes of suites contain living areas, suite floor plans are completely different at each resort. Even within an individual resort, you might notice some differences in floor plans.
Here is a list of the various suite types at Disney World:
- Family Suites – Disney’s Family Suites will fit up to 6 people. They generally include a master bedroom with one bed and a living area that includes sleeper sofas or pull-down murphy beds
- 1 Bedroom Suites – These suites will typically fit between 4-6 people. In most instances, the master bedroom has a king-sized bed while the living area has a sleeper sofa or pull-down murphy bed. These can be found in a couple of Disney’s Moderate Resorts, Deluxe Resorts, and Deluxe Villas.
- 2-Bedroom Suites – In these larger suites, you’ll find accommodations for anywhere from 4 to 10 people. The bed arrangements can vary greatly, but typically the master bedroom will have a king-sized bed and the additional room will have two queen-sized beds. The living area will generally have an extra sleeper sofa for more sleeping space. These can be found in a few of Disney’s Deluxe Resorts and several of Disney’s Deluxe Villa Properties.
- 3-Bedroom Suites – These are ONLY available in Disney’s Deluxe Villas. These large villas will comfortably sleep up to 12 guests. These are the best option for larger families that need as much space as possible. The floor plans are considerably different at each resort but generally include one king room, another room with two queens, and another room with two queens/doubles plus additional sleeping space in the living area.
- Additional Presidential and VIP Suites – Many of the Deluxe Resorts and Moderate Resorts have additional suites that go above and beyond when it comes to luxury. They typically don’t fit any more than 4-8 people, sometimes only 2. But they are incredibly luxurious and expensive!
Does Disney World Have 2-Bedroom Suites?
2-Bedroom Suites can be found at both Disney’s Deluxe Resorts and Disney’s Deluxe Villas. And while the sleeping accommodations and room layouts can vary a little, here are the resorts that offer 2-Bedroom Suites.
Disney’s Deluxe Resorts:
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
- Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
- Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Resort
Disney’s Deluxe Villas:
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village
- Disney’s Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary Resort
- Disney’s Beach Club Villas
- Disney’s Boardwalk Villas
- Disney’s Boulder Ridge Villas at Wilderness Lodge
- Disney’s Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Wilderness Lodge
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Villas
- Disney’s Old Key West Resort
- Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
- Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
Does Disney World Have 3-Bedroom Suites?
Visitors of Walt Disney World that have larger families of up to 12 people will be happy to know you can find 3-bedroom suites at several of Disney’s Deluxe Villas including:
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village
- Disney’s Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary Resort
- Disney’s Boardwalk Villas
- Disney’s Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Wilderness Lodge
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Villas
- Disney’s Old Key West Resort
- Disney’s Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs
How Much Does a Disney Suite Cost?
While choosing to stay at a Disney Suite can sound feasibly like a smart use of funds, it can still also be incredibly costly, especially if choosing larger rooms in the more expensive Disney resorts.
Prices for Disney World suites in 2025 can range anywhere from $300 per night to over $5,000 per night!
If staying at the cheapest suite in Disney, which is a family suite at All-Star Music, you can expect to pay around $310 a night during the slower times of the year. But if choosing to stay at a 3-bedroom villa at Disney’s Grand Floridian you could easily be looking at a few thousand dollars a night.
So as you see it can be reasonably priced for larger families but it could also be outrageously priced in other instances. A Disney World vacation is already extremely expensive, and some of the suites can bring the cost to stratospheric levels.
How Much Is a 2-Bedroom Suite at Disney World?
When considering the costs of a 2-bedroom suite there can be a significant difference in price depending on what resort you’re choosing to stay at. The range can be anywhere from about $2,200 per night to $5,000 per night depending on the time of year you visit.
If choosing a 2-bedroom room at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge (cheapest) you’ll be looking at around $2200 a night during the ‘Value Season.’
When choosing the cheapest 2-bedroom units at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort you’ll be looking at around $2800 a night during the ‘Value Season.’
Keep in mind these prices also include ‘Club Level Access’ which entitles you to special privileges such as complimentary food and drink offerings in addition to concierge service.
If you want to save a significant amount of money on 2 and 3-bedroom suites, I’d recommend staying at a Disney Deluxe Villa. You can often find these anywhere from 30-50% lower than the rates for a Disney Deluxe Resort Suite.
If you know a Disney Vacation Club Member, awesome! Ask them if they are willing to rent their points. They can generally give you a rental rate. If you don’t know a Disney Vacation Club Member, use an authorized Disney travel agent like Show You The World Travel and they’ll help you save some money on booking a Disney Deluxe Villa.
How Much is a 3-Bedroom Suite at Disney World?
3-Bedroom Suites at Disney World are only found at the Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts. These rooms are amongst the biggest rooms in all of Walt Disney World and can fit up to 12 adults. The prices for these can be incredibly costly and range between $2000 and $3500 a night during comparable times of the year.
For instance, when choosing to stay in a 3-Bedroom Suite at Disney’s Old Key West Resort (generally the cheapest) you’ll be looking at around $2000 a night during the ‘Value Season.’
When choosing to stay in a 3-Bedroom Suite at Disney’s Grand Floridian Villas (one of the most expensive) you’ll be looking at around $3500 a night during the ‘Value Season.’
The value seasons are the cheapest times of the year to go and the prices go up substantially if traveling during peak times such as holiday times and school vacations. Keep in mind these prices are the “rack rates” from Disney and I’d never recommend you pay these rates.
That is why we always recommend going to Disney World at the cheapest times of the year to save the most money possible.
These prices can be incredibly costly, especially if spending several nights or a week in one of these larger suites. Rather than writing off the idea of staying in a 3-Bedroom Suite, consider renting DVC Points from a Disney Vacation Club Member.
There are several reputable places online that will help you do this. I’m telling you it can easily save you thousands and is often our ‘go-to’ for saving on Disney Vacations.
Best Disney World Family Suites in 2025
Not that we’ve touched on what the suites throughout Disney World are, we going to look at each of the Disney World Family Suites one-by-one to help you pick the best one for the individualized needs of YOUR family.
We will split up these resorts by the hotel tier, starting off with Value Resorts, then Moderate Resorts, and then finally the Deluxe Resorts.
Each one of these resorts caters to different types of families and friends. By reading this we hope to enable you to pick out the very best resort for YOUR family to not only save money but have the very best possible vacation.
Again, our rankings here are not the overall best resorts, but the best resorts for suites and guests with large families in mind. If you want our overall rankings, read the Best Disney World Resort Hotels which has the pros and cons of each.
Best Disney Value Resorts with Suites
We will start off with our rankings of the best Disney Value Resorts with Suites. These resorts are the cheapest of the Disney Resort Tiers and are the most popular options for families with larger families of up to 6 people.
These rooms are smaller than the higher-priced suites, but still feature all of the wonderful perks of staying on-site in Walt Disney World. Read our Disney Value Resorts Guide for a more in-depth overview of each hotel.
# 2 – Disney’s All-Star Music Resort
- Maximum Guests: Up to 6 Guests in their Family Suites
- Suite Prices (2025): $350 – $696 (Taxes included)
Overview:
Coming in at a close 2nd place for our Disney Value Resort with Suites rankings is Disney’s All-Star Music Resort. All-Star Music is the only of the three All-Star Resorts that has suites. We debated long and hard between All-Star Music and Art of Animation and both have positive merits.
The All-Star Music Suites come in slightly smaller than its Art of Animation rivals with only 520 square feet of space.
This hotel and in particular the rooms are a little less appealing to smaller children as the theming of music doesn’t always resonate with kids as much as Disney Movies do.
The nice thing about these suites is that they’ve all been recently renovated in the last couple of years, making them more modern and in a lot of cases nicer than the Art of Animation Family Suites. These rooms also feature two full bathrooms and are significantly cheaper than the Art of Animation Suites.
It’s a close call but we slightly prefer Art of Animation for larger families.
What to Know:
While people often knock Disney’s All-Star Resorts due to their locale and being far from most everything, one of the nice features is that guests staying at any of the All-Star Resorts have access to the sister resorts.
This means that if you’re staying in the suites at All-Star Music you can easily access the other pools, lobby, food options, and common areas with a simple walk! It’s a fun occasion for the whole family to explore all three of the All-Star Resorts.
Best For:
The All-Star Music Family Suites are the cheapest rooms on Disney Property for large families of up to 6 people. If saving money is your primary concern you can’t go wrong staying here! I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how modern and sleek the rooms are now that they’ve been upgraded.
# 1 – Disney’s Art of Animation
- Maximum Guests: Up to 6 Guests in their Family Suites
- Suite Prices (2025): $497 – $963 (Taxes included)
Overview:
Our number one choice for the ‘Best Value Resort Suites’ has to be Disney’s Art of Animation Resort! This highly themed, family-friendly, and super-fun value resort is an easy pick at number one. The newest of all of Disney’s Value Resorts, Art of Animation packs incredible delight and value for the entire family.
The family suites are themed to Lion King, Finding Nemo, or Cars, allowing the entire family to pick a room that caters to their interests.
And while it’s the most expensive value resort, it also features the most spacious of value resort suites. In Art of Animation’s Family Suites, you get a sizable 560 square feet in each ‘Family Suite.’ That is more than double the size of a standard-value resort room.
Each room also includes two full bathrooms which can be incredibly valuable for larger families.
What to Know:
Large families will love the convenience and transportation options that Disney’s Art of Animation provides. One of the primary reasons we have it as our 1st choice when it comes to Value Resort Suites is its recent addition of being on the Disney Skyliner!
The Disney Skyliner is Disney’s newest mode of transportation which gives you direct access to both Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. There are only a few resorts that are on the Disney Skyliner line and Art of Animation is one of them!
This makes it incredibly accessible and easy to get to these two Disney parks in addition to other Disney Resorts that are on the Skyliner. Riding the Skyliner is a ton of fun, it’s like an attraction all on its own, and the whole family will love it!
Best For:
Disney’s Art of Animation is ideal for larger families that love Disney Animation! The large Disney characters all over the buildings make for fun scavenger hunts and exploration for smaller children. It’s also ideal for budget-conscious families that don’t want to spend the costs associated with the moderate and deluxe suites.
Best Disney Moderate Resorts with Suites
Our next tier of Disney suites is the Disney Moderate Resorts! These suites are a step up in terms of luxury, amenities, and size! Similar to the Value Resorts for suites there are only two options here. Each of these two resorts brings about a significant difference in terms of theming and atmosphere.
Read our Disney Moderate Resorts Guide for a more in-depth overview of each hotel.
# 2 – Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
- Maximum Guests: Up to 8 Guests in a 2-Bedroom Suite
- Suite Prices (2025): $745 – $3734 (Taxes included)
Overview:
The most modern and fanciest of all of Disney’s Moderate Resorts, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort has a large number of suite options for different-sized families, sleeping from anywhere from 4-8 people.
With the addition of the Gran Destino Tower, Disney’s Coronado Springs has some of the most modern and luxurious suites on Disney property! If luxury is truly what you’re looking for, it’s hard to beat the appeal and quality of the suite options at Coronado Springs.
However, while they are beautiful, they don’t exactly feel Disney, if that at all is important to you. You could just as easily be at a 4-star resort anywhere around the world with the theming in these rooms.
The other main problem with them is that they are EXPENSIVE. And if you’re not staying at one of the ‘Tower Suites’, you’re not getting the greatest value. You’ll be located far away from the hotel lobby and it could be a sizable walk from most of the hotel activities.
That’s why we have Coronado Springs as our number two option for our list of the Best Moderate Resort Suites.
What to Know:
Disney’s Coronado Springs is one of our favorite places to be in the evenings, with stunning views of Lago Dorado and beautiful rooftop views at the top of Gran Destino Tower. This resort feels more deluxe than modern, and guests will love the sheer number of dining options.
Best For:
We recommend staying at the Coronado Springs Suites if you’re going to visit Disney as an older family or a group of friends. Coronado Springs doesn’t have the greatest level of appeal to younger children due to its non-Disney feel.
However, it can be a great time for adults that want to eat and drink their way around the resort with plenty of options scattered throughout.
# 1 – Disney’s Fort Wilderness Cabins
- Maximum Guests: Up to 6 Guests in Each Cabin
- Suite Prices (2025): $485 – $920 (Taxes included)
Overview:
There are very few things that match the uniqueness of staying at one of The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort! That’s why it’s number one on our list of the Best Moderate Resort Suites.
Each cabin comfortably fits up to 6 people and is approximately 510 square feet in size, giving you all of the amenities you expect in a modern-day cabin.
These rooms are incredibly fun and home-like, giving you a kitchen, fridge, microwave, and dishwasher. They are also very reasonably priced for families in comparison to some of the other comparable options for larger families.
Disney has done a really nice job of continuing to update these cabins over the years so that they stay rustic while also being modern. Each cabin includes a queen-sized bed, a double-size sleeper sofa, and a bunk bed.
While we aren’t the biggest fans of Fort Wilderness in general, we love the overall experience of staying at the cabins. And even though they don’t feel “luxurious” as you might expect when choosing a larger room, you’ll certainly have a memorable vacation staying here.
What to Know:
Staying at Disney’s Fort Wilderness is truly an outdoorsy paradise! You’ll be surrounded by wildlife in every direction! There’s arguably more to do at Fort Wilderness than at any other resort, including things such as horseback riding, archery, canoeing, fishing, driving around in golf carts, and more!
Best For:
If your family enjoys the camping experience and the rustic nature of being outdoors and one with nature, you’ll love this resort. It’s a great place to spend quality time with your entire family while being close enough to the parks that you can easily hop on a bus whenever you want.
Best Disney Deluxe Resorts with Suites
Finally, our final tier of Disney World Resorts with Suites brings us to the Deluxe resorts! These resorts are the best of the best with significant upgrades in terms of amenities, size, and comfort. The Deluxe resorts also give large families the most amount of recreational and dining options.
But keep in mind these resorts are also significantly more costly and not as affordable for many families. Read our Disney Deluxe Resorts Guide for a more in-depth overview of each hotel.
# 8 – Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
- Maximum Guests: Up to 6 guests
- Suite Prices (2025): $2377 – $4093 (Taxes included)
Overview:
Disney’s Yacht Club is a beautiful resort situated on Crescent Lake, sharing the same property as Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Unfortunately, we have the Yacht Club Resort as our 8th-ranked Disney Deluxe Resort with suites. While we do thoroughly enjoy this resort, there are a number of reasons why we have it lower.
First off, the largest room size is the Yacht Club’s 2-bedroom suites which only fit up to 6 people in a room. For that to be the largest room available at the Yacht Club is disappointing for larger families. Second of all, the suites are incredibly pricey! Considering it only fits 6 people, paying over $2,000 a night is a little too much to get any kind of value whatsoever when staying here.
While we do love the location and the amazing Stormalong Bay, when it comes to our Deluxe Resort Rankings with suites, it’s at the bottom of the list for us.
What to Know:
While the Yacht Club isn’t our favorite Deluxe Resort with suites, it still has two things that guests will love. The location and proximity to the parks are second to none! Both Hollywood Studios and EPCOT are within walking distance.
The other thing that makes guests love this resort is that it has the best resort pool area in all of Disney World!
Best For:
Since Disney’s Yacht Club Suites only fit up to 6 guests, we recommend this option if you have a smaller family. The theming is ideal for seaside lovers, especially boat lovers that love the nautical theme of a New England Yacht Club.
It’s also great for guests that want to be close to the action with boat access, walking pathways, and the Disney Skyliner! Plus it’s right on the Disney Boardwalk, giving additional amenities and restaurant choices.
# 7 – Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
- Maximum Guests: Up to 6 guests
- Suite Prices (2025): $1056 – $1837 (Taxes included)
Overview:
One of the most underrated resorts, especially since it’s considerably cheaper than the monorail resorts, but still equally close to Disney’s Magic Kingdom! We have Disney’s Wilderness Lodge 7th on our list of Disney Deluxe Resort Suites.
We love the overall theming of this resort from the wonderful lobby to the National Park inspiration scattered throughout the resort. But when it comes to larger families that want a suite, this resort doesn’t rank high due to its limited options for rooms. The largest rooms in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge unfortunately only fit 6 people.
We do appreciate that it’s one of the lowest-priced suite options for families that want a deluxe experience with the additional amenities and perhaps don’t need a 2-bedroom option. Again, we love Disney’s Wilderness Lodge as a resort, but we’d avoid it if you need additional suite space.
What to Know:
One of our favorite experiences at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is found at one of our favorite character meals in all of Walt Disney World and that’s Storybook Dining at Artist Point!
Here you’ll meet Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs along with the Evil Queen. It’s a highly unique and fun dining experience for families with kids so make sure to book advance dining reservations 60+ days ahead of your arrival date.
Best For:
A stay at Wilderness Lodge can be a great choice for outdoorsy families that love the ambiance and feel of nature and the National Parks. If you didn’t know any better you’d think you were somewhere in the Pacific Northwest at a beautiful mountain lodge!
While you’re still in Central Florida, you are at a beautiful lodge that will immediately transport you to Yellowstone, Yosemite, or your favorite National Park!
# 6 – Disney’s Beach Club Resort
- Maximum Guests: Up to 7 Guests

We recommend Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort to families with little to no budget! It is an easy place to spend significant amounts of money in the blink of an eye with access to world-class dining, spa treatments, and activities. And taking the top spot for our favorite Disney Deluxe Suites is Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! Not only is the Polynesian our pick for best suites, but it’s also not coincidentally our favorite Disney World Resort!
What makes the Polynesian the top pick for larger families that want suites? There are several reasons.
Back in 2021, they updated all of their guest rooms to be themed to Moana. These stylish new rooms are beautifully done with subtle accents throughout each room.
The overall theming at the Polynesian is among our favorites in Disney, putting you in the island mood from the moment you arrive at the resort. And how can you top the ability to get Dole Whip at a moment’s notice? The Polynesian is the only resort that features its own Dole Whip stand and we spend a ton of time there!
We love this tropical escape and it is the perfect place for larger families to spend time, giving you convenient access to Magic Kingdom via the monorail.
What to Know:

Best Disney Suites for the Ultimate Luxury
When it comes to the ultimate luxury, there are a few Disney Suites that stand above the rest! These suites embody the very essence of sophistication, theming, and Disney storytelling. If money and budget aren’t a concern for an extra special trip, we’d give serious consideration to these suites.
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser (Closed on September 30th, 2023)
There was nothing comparable to a stay at the Galactic Starcruiser! Rather than comparing it to another Deluxe Resort, a stay was an immersive 2-night experience unparalleled anywhere else, not just in Disney, but arguably the world!
If you wanted the ultimate in luxury, a stay at one of the ‘Grand Captain Suites’ would have done just that! These rooms were perfect for a large family and include 2 bathrooms, 2 queen beds, 2 bunk beds, and 2 wall pull-down beds. They fit up to 8 guests.
These suites costed roughly between $12,000 and $15,000 for a 2-night stay! That included food and beverage (alcohol not included).
Read our Full Review of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser for a more in-depth look at this experience. And while we are beyond sad that it is now closed, it’s a memory we will forever cherish! We hope Disney does something great with this space!
Disney’s Polynesian Village Bungalows
These overwater bungalows are perfectly themed to fit the theming of Disney’s Polynesian Resort and will remind you of every magazine you’ve seen of the fanciest South Pacific Island paradise resorts you’ve ever seen!
The only difference is rather than being on the Pacific Ocean, they are found on the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon in Central Florida. Just a little different. But truly, staying at one of these unforgettable bungalows will allow you to get a taste of the South Pacific without traveling on a 20-hour plane ride.
Each bungalow is equipped with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a living/dining/kitchen area. They also come equipped with a back deck and a plunge pool. Plus you’ll also get views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks each night!
These bungalows fit up to 8 guests and will cost you between $3528 – $6519 per night, depending on the time of year you visit.
The Cabins at Copper Creek Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
One of the most stunning rooms/cabins/suites you can find anywhere in Disney is found over at Disney’s Copper Creek Villas! Opening up in 2017, these beautiful new cabins were added to the resort as part of their Copper Creek Villas addition.
Each cabin is stunning and fits up to 8 guests, perfect for larger families. They come equipped with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living/dining/kitchen area, and a private screened porch overlooking the water with a hot tub.
These are the ultimate in splurging while taking in the Wilderness and outdoorsy vibe of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. These rooms will set you back between $2876 and $5124 per night depending on when you visit so start saving!
The Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
While not quite on the levels of luxury as our previous selections, a stay at The Treehouse Villas can truly be a unique experience for families of up to 9 people. Situated in their own dedicated area on Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort’s property, these standalone treehouses will make you feel like you’re practically staying at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.
They feel rustic and outdoorsy while giving you significant privacy from other guests, completely removed from the main parts of the resort. Each treehouse comes equipped with 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, a living/dining/kitchen area with additional sleeping space, and a porch area.
These Treehouse Villas will cost you between $1187 and $2231 per night depending on the time of year you visit.
Additional Presidential and VIP Suites
- Cinderella Castle Suite – Arguably the most sought-after and hard-to-get-in suite in all of Disney World, the Cinderella Castle Suite is found inside Cinderella’s Castle in Magic Kingdom. The ONLY way you’ll be able to stay here is if you get invited or win some kind of contest. VERY few people have ever stayed here, so don’t get your hopes up!
- King Kamehameha Presidential Suite at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort – This two-story resort room is situated in the Tonga Building at the Polynesian Resort. It’s an absolutely stunning suite that fits up to 8 adults and features over 1800 square feet of beautifully themed space. These rooms will set you back between $3711 and $5825 per night.

*These certainly aren’t all of the Presidential and VIP Suites, but these are the truly stand-out ones.
Best Overall Resort for Large Families?
Our favorite overall resort when it comes to large families has to be Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Why?
- It has spacious suite options for larger families
- We love its location on the Disney Monorail
- It’s located next to Magic Kingdom
- It has fantastic food, alcohol, and dessert options, including DOLE WHIP!
- It’s one of the most fun and relaxed resorts for families of all ages
Is a Family Suite at Disney World Worth the High Price?
Family Suites can be a great option for families that are looking to stay within the same living quarters on their vacation. They are perfect for families with small children that don’t want to be far away from each other. But when it comes to value, they typically aren’t as “budget-friendly” as they appear.
In almost every instance we priced out, it was cheaper to get two standard rooms that would fit a similar amount of people as a suite.
For instance, at the Art of Animation Resort for a Family Suite, they start at $478 per night. A standard room in the Little Mermaid section of the resort, which only fits 4 people only costs $209 per night.
That makes it more than double the costs of a standard room. Not to mention (2) standard rooms would fit a max occupancy of 8 people as opposed to the only 6 people that a Family Suite would fit.
While this is just one example, the results were ultimately the same whichever resort we chose. However, they absolutely can be worth the higher prices if you are willing to pay a little bit of a higher premium for the ability for your family to stay together while also having some additional amenities that a larger family suite comes with (Kitchenette, Fridge, Microwave).
Best Suites at Non-Disney Hotels
While there are significant amounts of options for staying at a variety of different suite options within the invisible boundaries of Walt Disney World, there are even more options for families of all different types of budgets outside of Disney.
And while many of these are off-site, some of these ‘Non-Disney’ resorts can actually be found on Disney soil. Here are some of your options and the max guest occupancy:
- B Resort & Spa – Disney Springs Resort Area (Up to 5 Guests)
- DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando – Disney Springs Area (Up to 8 Guests)
- Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace – Disney Springs Area (Up to 6 Guests)
- Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista – Disney Springs Area (Up to 8 Guests)
- Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Lake Buena Vista – Disney Springs Area (Up to 8 Guests)
- Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress – (Up to 6 Guests)
- The Grove Resort & Water Park Orlando – (Up to 8 Guests)
- Waldorf Astoria Orlando – (Up to 6 Guests)
- Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel – (Up to 8 Guests)
- Walt Disney World Swan Hotel – (Up to 8 Guests)
- Walt Disney World Swan Reserve – (Up to 8 Guests)
- Wyndham Bonnet Creek – (Up to 8 Guests)
Best Value Option for Non-Disney Suites
While many of these resorts are in the same ballpark depending on the time of year you book, our pick for the Best Value Option for Non-Disney Suites is the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando.
Why do we love it? It’s a great option for all members of the family and their 2-bedroom suites fit up to 8 guests.
The costs generally will run in the $500-$600 a night range. We love its proximity to Disney Springs with only a short walk or drive away.
Best Moderate Option for Non-Disney Suites
Our favorite moderately priced option to stay is the new beautiful Walt Disney World Swan Reserve.
While this resort has Walt Disney World in its name, it’s not a Disney-owned property and is instead owned by Marriott. This resort is found right on the Disney Boardwalk, creating unbeatable proximity to both Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.
They offer 2-bedroom suite options that will fit up to 8 guests. These rooms will cost upwards of $1,000 – $1,500 a night.
Best Deluxe Option for Non-Disney Suites
Our favorite highest-priced or ‘deluxe option’ for suites is the Waldorf Astoria Orlando.
These deluxe suites will fit up to 6 people. The hotel in general is a beautiful 5-star resort only about 10 minutes from Disney’s grounds and it offers complimentary transportation to all of the Disney Parks.
This is a great option for larger families that want to be near Disney but also want a little separation. These rooms and this resort are the epitome of extravagance and cost in the $1,000 – $1,500 a night range, but keep in mind they only fit 6 people.
If you decide to stay off-site, check out our list of the Best Hotels Near Disney World with comparisons of all the best options for your family.

Tips for Family Suites at Disney World
Besides our list of the Best Disney World Tips, when it comes to staying at a family suite in World Disney World there are a number of different things you can do to make your stay even better. Here are our 6 favorite tips for families wanting to stay at a suite in Disney World.
Ask for Adjoining Rooms
One tip that can greatly benefit larger families whether or not they’re staying in a suite is to ask for adjoining rooms. Several different Disney Resorts have adjoining rooms, so they are not hard to come by.
Keeping your family nearby, especially if you have a larger family can make your trip much simpler for planning purposes and of course a lot more fun!
While Disney cannot guarantee they’ll be able to accommodate every family and every situation, they will do their absolute best. And the earlier you ask the better your chances are of getting one.
Use DVC Points to Save Money
One of the best ways you can save money to book a larger room for your family is by renting or borrowing DVC points. As we talked about earlier, Disney Vacation Club Villas are those rooms that are found at Disney Deluxe Villas Resorts and can sometimes fit up to 12 guests.
But did you know that by renting DVC points from either someone you know or by finding a reputable outlet online like David’s DVC Rentals, you can EASILY save 30-40% off the cost of your room? Our family has used this method over and over again and we have saved THOUSANDS of dollars over the years.
Ask for Roll Away Beds and Cribs
When coming to Disney World with a larger group, it can be incredibly helpful to ask for a rollaway bed or a crib. This is great if you have small children/babies, and can give you some additional sleeping options for your larger room, especially if your room fits 5 or 6 people.
Just like always, Disney cannot guarantee they’ll be able to give you these, but in our experience, they’ve always done a good job of trying to fill the needs of our family and the sooner you ask the more likely they will have one for you.
Calculate the Cost vs. Multiple Hotel Rooms
It’s important to always know the costs of staying in a Family Suite and whether it’s truly worth it. In most instances dollars to dollars, it’s not the most cost-efficient way for larger groups. It’s almost always more affordable to get two rooms (if comparing the cost per individual person).
But with that being said, standard rooms don’t come with the additional options that suites come with. They don’t have kitchenettes or living areas. But these things come at a significant premium.
I always recommend you calculate your options and decide what is best for your family or group. It’s possible the extra cost of a suite for your situation is worth it, enabling your entire group to be in the same living space. This can be vital for families with small children.
On the other hand, some members of your party may want more privacy, and in that case, multiple smaller rooms are the way to go.
Do You REALLY Want to Share a Room with Everyone?
Sharing a room with other family members or friends can be a challenging or ultra-fun experience, depending on who you are and how long you are away. Only YOU know the makeup of your family and friends to know if it’s going to be a worthwhile adventure.
Sometimes everyone wants to stay together in the same room/suite like one big happy family, and in other situations, it’s just better for people to get additional space. You certainly don’t need drama on your vacation!
It’s possible that after sharing a larger room once, it won’t happen again! But really, it is something to consider.
Go at the Cheapest Times of the Year
As mentioned in our prices above, the variances in pricing can be substantial. We are talking thousands of dollars for a trip depending on the time of year you visit! This can be a make-or-break situation for your family and whether they can afford to stay at a Disney suite or not.
If you go during one of the cheaper times of the year and avoid peak times (Holidays, School Vacations, Summer Break) you’ll thank me later. Not JUST because of the cost, but off-peak times are more enjoyable both at the resort and in the Disney parks.
Fewer people bring about less chaos, noise, and shorter wait times which are always welcome!
That is why we always recommend going to Disney World at the cheapest times of the year to save the most money possible and have an overall more enjoyable experience.
You can find this and more ways to go on the “cheap” in our Guide to Saving Money at Disney World.
FAQs
Can 5 People Stay in a Disney Hotel Room?
Disney World has several different resorts that are conducive to 5 guests in a room. Most standard rooms at both Disney’s Moderate Resorts and Deluxe Resorts include either a pull-down bed or a sleeper sofa enabling a 5th guest to sleep there.
Two of Disney’s Value Resorts (Art of Animation and All-Star Music) have Family Suites that sleep up to 6 guests in a room.
How Much is the Lion King Family Suite?
For family members that really want to stay inside Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and stay more specifically in a Lion King Family Suite, the cost will run between $514-$845 per night (this price includes tax). The difference in price will depend on the time of year you visit.
Guests staying at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort can also choose to stay in either the Little Mermaid Rooms (Standard 4-person rooms) or the other Family Suites that are themed to Cars and Finding Nemo.
Does Disney All-Star Movies Resort Have Family Suites?
The only one of Disney’s All-Star Resorts that has Family Suites is at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort. Neither All-Star Movies nor All-Star Sports have larger family suites.
Do All-Star Family Suites Have 2 Bathrooms?
For budget-conscious families, one of our favorite options is staying at the All-Star Music Family Suites. The newly-renovated All-Star Music rooms are the only of the All-Star Resorts that have Family Suites.
Each Family Suite fits up to 6 guests and has 2 bathrooms. These are the most affordable suites on Disney Property for larger families and give you the biggest bang for your buck.
Does Pop Century Have Family Suites?
Unfortunately, Disney’s Pop Century Resort only has standard rooms with a max capacity of 4 adults.
Only two of Disney’s Value Resorts have Family Suites: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Disney’s All-Star Music Resort.
Can I Stay in the Cinderella Castle Suite?
The ultra-exclusive Cinderella Castle Suite found within Cinderella’s Castle at the Magic Kingdom is not available for stays, unfortunately.
Occasionally Disney will have giveaways or special incentives for guests to win a stay here. But no amount of money will get you a chance to stay in a Cinderella Castle Suite.
How to Book a Disney World Suite for Your Family
Booking a Disney World Suite for your family is no different than booking any vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort and there are two main places where you can do this.
- You can go directly through Disney and do this directly or you can use a separate website that allows you to book Disney Resorts (Orbitz, Expedia, etc…).
- Or better yet, you can use a Disney travel agent that will make the entire process incredibly simple for you! They won’t charge you any additional money to assist you, and Disney travel agents are uniquely qualified to help you find the best room and the best resort for your family’s needs, especially larger families!
Booking a Disney trip for the first time can be incredibly overwhelming with all of the planning involved, but by using an agent, they’ll make sure you get all your ducks in a row and get all your i’s dotted and t’s crossed.
A Disney travel agent can not only help you with your room but can help you with your tickets, your dining reservations, getting back and forth to your hotel from the airport, and more!
Personally, I recommend Show You The World Travel as our 1st choice when it comes to a Disney World Trip and I use them when planning my trips. Their team of agents is very knowledgeable and super friendly. And again, the best part is they are 100% FREE to use and will probably end up saving you money, especially when booking expensive Disney suites.
That wraps up our ranking of the top Disney World Suites for large families. We hope that we gave you some good info so you can pick which one is right for your family to stay at on your next trip!

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
