We all know that Illuminations: Reflections of Earth is coming to an end in 2019, we now know more about its replacement, that is both of them. Today at the Disney D23 Destination D event, Disney announced two new fireworks shows coming to Epcot and taking the place of Illuminations.
The first is called “Epcot Forever,” which is debuting in Fall 2019 once the current show ends. This will be a seamless transition and will feature classic music from Epcot like Tomorrow’s Child, Magic Journeys, and more! This is going to be just a temporary show however, holding the place for the real long-term replacement.
The second and real fireworks show replacement for Illuminations is for now being called: “A Celebration of Disney Music” and is coming in 2020 as part of the multi-year transformation of the park. Let’s hope they can come up with a more intriguing title than that…
This is going to be an amazing new nighttime spectacular celebrating the music of people around the world and using massive new floating set piece, custom-built LED panels, choreographed moving fountains, lights, pyrotechnics and lasers.
Going to be lots of excitement in Epcot over the next few years and these two shows are going to be right in the middle of it all!

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
