Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products Bob Chapek announced today the Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge attraction names as well as new video footage of the attractions themselves!
Both attractions are coming to Disneyland and Walt Disney World in 2019.
The first one is the long-awaited Millennium Falcon attraction which has the official name: “Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.” Guests will be able to take control of the iconic spaceship and will be assigned one of 3 unique and critical roles on the mission.

The other attraction (previously called Battle Escape) which up till now we knew less about is called: “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.” On this attraction guests will be joining an epic space battle between the Resistance and the First Order, and facing off against Kylo Ren at the end.
This makes sense as we’ve heard Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will have two parts. The first where you ride around the star destroyer in a vehicle and the second where guests will have an interactive role, quite possibly either blasters or a lightsaber and take part in the battle. Since you’ll be facing off Against Kylo Ren, that pretty much confirms you’ll be getting a light saber!

And while the lines for both “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance” and “Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run” are bound to be enormous, Disney is integrating the Play Disney Parks app into both attraction queues which will keep guests entertained as they wait.
We also got great news on the music front as Disney also revealed that legendary composer John Williams is writing the musical score for Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge! That has me almost as excited for Galaxy’s Edge as the attractions themselves! Here’s a listen:
When is Star Wars Land opening you ask? It opens in Disneyland in May 2019 and in Walt Disney World in August 2019.
