Pedestrian Bridge Added to New Parking Structure in Disneyland

Even though plans for the Disneyland Luxury Hotel have been cancelled, the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure is still full steam ahead.  Today Disney has announced a a pedestrian bridge being added to the new 6500-space Mickey & Friends Parking Structure in Disneyland which will make it much easier for guests to get around property.

The new pedestrian bridge will take guests from the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure over Magic Way and into the rest of the Disneyland Resort with ease.  This eliminates foot traffic on the street level of Disneyland Drive and Magic Way which improves both safety and convenience.  This means guests will travel at ease from Downtown Disney to the Parks’ Main Entrance.

The new pedestrian bridge is expected to be finished next year, along with other parking solutions, such as adding a 60 percent increase in access lanes and West Side parking capacity.  Disneyland is also making improvements to the tram boarding area next to the parking structure.

After all there is going to be a major influx of traffic when Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge opens up in 2019, and these improvements will help with what is sure to be massive traffic.

Stay tuned for more updates…
