As you know, Disney has been making major changes to the Hollywood Studios Parking Lot including adding space, a new bus loop and a brand new toll entrance bringing guests into the park from a different direction. Now today we see that the original Hollywood Studios Parking Toll Plaza has been destroyed with it no longer in use.
Thanks to @bioreconstruct over on Twitter, we have some amazing aerial shots of the Hollywood Studios Toll Plaza from high above in the sky.
Here is a shot of the original Hollywood Studios Toll Plaza a few days ago. As you can see, it was already closed from traffic but still upright:
As of yesterday that changed:
You can see excavation equipment in there tearing down the original toll plaza to the ground:
This area behind Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is probably going to be used from transportation to and from the Star Wars Hotel into Galaxy’s Edge so this needs to get all taken away to get that ready. Disney hasn’t said yet exactly what kind of transportation it will be, but from the latest blueprints of the Star Wars Hotel, it seems like it will be a bus/shuttle of some sort. How they make the trip without breaking story is anyone’s guess.
So while it’s sad to see the original toll plaza leveled, it’s exciting to think about the future of this area…

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
