Here are the currently published Hollywood Studios operating hours that we reviewed on September 14, 2026. Disney releases and revises hours on a rolling basis, so always confirm your date using the official calendar and My Disney Experience before visiting.
September 2026
- Most September dates: 9:00 am–9:00 pm
- September 1, 4, 8, 11, 12, 13, and 15: 9:00 am–9:30 pm
- September 2: 9:00 am–9:00 pm with a calendar event listed from 9:30 pm–12:30 am
- September 12: 9:00 am–9:30 pm with a calendar event listed from 10:00 pm–1:00 am
- September 16, 23, and 30: Extended Evening Hours from 9:00 pm–11:00 pm
- September 18, 19, and 26: 8:30 am–9:00 pm, with Early Entry generally beginning at 8:00 am
The remaining published September dates are generally 9:00 am–9:00 pm. The calendar labels on September 2 and September 12 do not identify the event, so we are not guessing what those events are.
October 2026

- October 7, 14, and 28: Extended Evening Hours from 9:00 pm–11:00 pm

What Are the Normal Hours for Hollywood Studios?
Hollywood Studios does not have the most complicated regular schedule at Walt Disney World, but the variations are important because this is a park where arriving at the wrong time can cost you a lot of time in line.
The most common current schedule is 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. Some busier dates close at 9:30 pm, while occasional dates open at 8:30 am. Special events such as Jollywood Nights can shorten the regular day for guests without an event ticket.
These are useful planning baselines, not guarantees. Holidays, seasonal demand, private events, weather, operating changes, and Disney’s attendance projections can all affect the published schedule.
What Time Does Hollywood Studios Open?
Hollywood Studios most commonly opens at 9:00 am, although some dates open at 8:30 am. Eligible guests staying at Disney Resort hotels and participating partner hotels can use Early Theme Park Entry 30 minutes before the regular opening.
Disney may allow guests into Hollywood Boulevard or other common areas before the official opening time. That does not mean every attraction is operating, so check the current Early Entry attraction list and My Disney Experience before deciding where to go first.
What Time Does Hollywood Studios Close?
Hollywood Studios most commonly closes at 9:00 pm, although some dates extend to 9:30 pm. On Jollywood Nights dates, regular day guests may need to leave at 7:00 pm, while event-ticket guests remain for the separately ticketed party.
Extended Evening Hours and Disney After Hours are also separate programs. They do not mean that every guest can remain in the park after the regular closing time.
Busy Days & Holiday Hours
Disney is most likely to adjust Hollywood Studios hours during periods when it expects higher attendance. Those periods can include:
- Spring break
- Summer vacation
- Halloween season
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas
- New Year’s
- Three-day holiday weekends
- Busy fall and winter weekends
- Jollywood Nights dates
Hollywood Studios generally receives fewer broad hour extensions than Magic Kingdom, but a 9:30 pm closing or an 8:30 am opening can appear on busier dates. Longer hours can help you fit more into the day, but they also usually mean Disney expects larger crowds.
A longer schedule does not guarantee shorter waits. In fact, the dates with the longest hours can be some of the busiest days in the park, so check the actual calendar rather than relying only on historical patterns.
Hollywood Studios Closing Info
Hollywood Studios can remain active well after the official park closing time. Fantasmic! may begin at or near closing, Wonderful World of Animation can be scheduled late in the evening, and some restaurants and shops continue serving guests after attractions have stopped accepting new riders.
If you are already inside an operating attraction queue when the park closes, Cast Members will generally explain whether the queue remains open. Attraction availability can change because of weather, technical problems, or other operating decisions, so do not save your one must-do ride for the final minutes without checking its status.
Does Hollywood Studios Ever Close Early?
The most predictable early closings currently occur on Jollywood Nights dates. Regular guests may have to leave at 7:00 pm, while the separately ticketed event begins at 7:30 pm.
Hollywood Studios can also close early for private events, filming, weather, or other operating needs. The official calendar may show an early closing without explaining the reason, so we will not label an early closing unless Disney or another approved source confirms why it is happening.
Some Attractions Close Earlier
Not every attraction, show, character experience, shop, restaurant, or festival-style offering follows the full park schedule. Stage shows have their own performance times, character appearances can begin later, and some experiences may stop operating before the park officially closes.
Always check the individual attraction or entertainment listing in My Disney Experience before walking across the park for something that may already be closed. This is especially important when planning the final hour of the evening.
Staying Late in the Park
Hollywood Studios is often more enjoyable late in the day after some guests leave for dinner or return to their hotels. Posted wait times can remain high even when actual waits begin to fall, especially during the final two hours.
This can be a good time to try attractions such as Slinky Dog Dash, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. Rise of the Resistance can also have a shorter late wait, but it is risky to save for the end because downtime could leave you without another opportunity.
If you are attending Fantasmic!, remember that the theater can release a large crowd at the same time. You may want to wait briefly before joining the transportation rush.
What Time Are Fantasmic! and Wonderful World of Animation?
Fantasmic!
Fantasmic! is Hollywood Studios’ most popular nighttime spectacular. It may have one or two performances depending on the date, season, weather, and operating schedule.
When there are two performances, the second show is often a useful option because many guests choose the first. That can allow you to use the earlier showtime for attractions, although no particular wait pattern is guaranteed.
Fantasmic! often begins at or near the official park closing time. Check the current entertainment schedule because the showtime can move when the park closes at 9:00 pm, 9:30 pm, or earlier for a special event.
Wonderful World of Animation
Wonderful World of Animation is a projection show on the Chinese Theater. It is a nighttime entertainment offering, not a traditional fireworks show, and its exact time can change by date.
Check My Disney Experience before your visit and plan your final rides, dining reservation, and exit strategy around the current showtime.
Early Theme Park Entry
Early Theme Park Entry is available every day to eligible guests staying at Disney Resort hotels and participating partner hotels. The benefit normally begins 30 minutes before the regular park opening.
Hollywood Studios is one of the most valuable parks for Early Entry because several headliner attractions develop long waits very quickly. Valid theme park admission is required, and some ticket types may also have reservation requirements.
Open Attractions
The current Hollywood Studios Early Entry planning list includes:
- Alien Swirling Saucers
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
- Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets

Disney can change the participating attractions, and temporary downtime can remove an attraction from the available list on your date. Always check My Disney Experience before walking to an attraction.
Extended Evening Hours
Extended Evening Hours provide eligible guests with additional time after regular park closing, normally for two hours. The benefit is separate from Early Theme Park Entry and is available only on select dates.
Eligible guests generally include those staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts, Disney Deluxe Villas, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels, the Swan Reserve, Shades of Green, and other qualifying partner hotels. Reconfirm the current eligibility list before traveling.
Hollywood Studios does not receive Extended Evening Hours every week. The currently published calendar shows the following 2026 Hollywood Studios dates:
- September 16, 23, and 30
- October 7, 14, and 28
These dates are scheduled from 9:00 pm–11:00 pm. Disney can change the park rotation, dates, and participating attractions.

Disney After Hours at Hollywood Studios is a separately ticketed nighttime event with limited attendance, lower waits, and included snacks and beverages at designated locations. Event-ticket guests may generally enter the park beginning at 7:00 pm, before the official event begins.
After Hours can be a good option for guests who want to experience the Hollywood Studios headliners without spending the entire day in standby lines. No specific wait time or attraction lineup is guaranteed.
2027 Dates and Hours
The currently listed Hollywood Studios After Hours dates for 2027 are:
- January: 16 and 27
- February: 13 and 24
- March: 13, 17, and 24
- April: 7, 24, and 28
- May: 19 and 26
- June: 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30
- July: 5, 12, and 26
- August: 4 and 25
Most events run from 9:30 pm–12:30 am. April 24, 2027 is listed from 10:30 pm–1:30 am. Event-ticket guests may enter beginning at 7:00 pm.
Dates and times can change, so verify the official event page before purchasing.
Price
The currently listed 2027 ticket range is approximately $159–$199 per person, plus tax, depending on the date. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members may receive the listed discount.
Resort and select partner-hotel guests may receive an advance-purchase window. Other guests are currently listed as being able to purchase beginning September 22, 2026. Tickets are limited and may sell out.
Open Attractions
The current highlights include:

Jollywood Nights
Jollywood Nights is Hollywood Studios’ separately ticketed holiday event. Regular day guests may face an earlier park closing, while event-ticket guests remain in the park for the evening party.
The current 2026–2027 event listing includes November 7, 14, 16, 21, 23, and 28; December 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, and 23; and January 3 and 5. The official daily calendar controls the regular daytime hours, so do not assume every event date has the same daytime schedule.
The supplied November calendar shows regular guest hours ending at 7:00 pm and Jollywood Nights beginning at 7:30 pm on the published November event dates. Check the event page for current ticket prices, entertainment, and entry details.
Old Extra Magic Hours
The former Extra Magic Hours program has been replaced by Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours.
Early Theme Park Entry is the current daily morning benefit for eligible hotel guests. Extended Evening Hours is the current late-night benefit for eligible guests on select dates. Do not use the former Extra Magic Hours schedule when planning a current Hollywood Studios visit.
FAQs
How Often Are Hollywood Studios Hours Updated?
Disney publishes park hours on a rolling basis, commonly around 60 days in advance, and may revise them as the date approaches. Check when you begin planning, check again shortly before your trip, and verify the final schedule in My Disney Experience on the day of your visit.
Is Hollywood Studios Free After 6:00 pm?
No. Hollywood Studios is not free based on the time you arrive. Regular admission is required whether you enter in the morning, afternoon, or evening. Jollywood Nights and Disney After Hours also require separate event tickets.
What Months Have the Longest Park Hours?
Hollywood Studios is more likely to receive longer hours during spring break, summer vacation, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, and other high-demand periods. However, the month alone cannot guarantee longer hours. Check the actual calendar for your date.
How Many Hours Does Hollywood Studios Take?
A guest focused only on the major rides may spend several hours in Hollywood Studios. Guests who want to experience the rides, shows, Galaxy’s Edge, Toy Story Land, nighttime entertainment, dining, and character experiences may need the full day.
Early Entry, Lightning Lane, crowd levels, and your family’s priorities all affect how long you need. Hollywood Studios can be a half-day park for some guests, but first-time visitors who want to do nearly everything should plan on staying much longer.
Does Hollywood Studios Stay Open Later During Holidays?
Sometimes. Disney may extend regular park hours during busy holiday periods, but Jollywood Nights can also cause an earlier closing for regular guests. Disney After Hours and Extended Evening Hours are separate programs and do not apply to everyone.
What is Rope Drop?
“Rope drop” means arriving in time for the beginning of attraction operations. At Hollywood Studios, guests may enter Hollywood Boulevard or other common areas before the official opening, but Cast Members can hold guests near the entrance until attractions are ready.
Early Entry guests receive access to participating attractions before regular guests. Guests without Early Entry should plan to arrive before the regular opening if they want to be near the front of the crowd.
Rope dropping is particularly useful for Rise of the Resistance, Slinky Dog Dash, Runaway Railway, Tower of Terror, and Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.
What Is the Earliest You Can Enter Hollywood Studios?
Eligible Early Entry guests can generally enter participating attractions 30 minutes before the regular park opening. Disney may admit guests into common areas earlier, but that does not guarantee that every attraction is operating.
If the regular opening is 9:00 am, Early Entry generally begins at 8:30 am. If Disney moves the regular opening to 8:30 am, Early Entry generally begins at 8:00 am.
Guests without Early Entry should not assume that they can enter the attraction areas before the regular opening. Check Disney’s current procedures for your date.
What Time Should YOU Arrive at Hollywood Studios?
If you qualify for Early Entry, we recommend reaching the park entrance approximately 45–60 minutes before Early Entry begins. That gives you time for transportation, security, admission, and the entrance checkpoint.
If you do not qualify for Early Entry, arriving approximately 30–45 minutes before regular opening can help you get ahead of the largest part of the crowd.
Guests using the Skyliner should allow extra time for resort queues and transfers, especially when traveling through the Caribbean Beach hub. Guests driving or using rideshare should allow time for parking, drop-off, security, and walking to the entrance.
Rides to Prioritize Early in the Morning
If You Have Early Theme Park Entry
Your first choice depends on your group, but strong priorities include:
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
- Slinky Dog Dash
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
- The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
If You Do Not Have Early Theme Park Entry
Guests without Early Entry may want to begin with an attraction outside the Early Entry flow or use the current standby waits to decide where to go. Tower of Terror, Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster, Smugglers Run, Runaway Railway, and Toy Story Mania! can all be reasonable priorities depending on crowd movement.
If You Save a Ride for the End
Waits can fall during the last two hours, but Rise of the Resistance is risky to save for the very end because of downtime. Check the attraction status before committing to a final-hour plan, and leave enough time to reach the exit after Fantasmic! or other nighttime entertainment.

Is It Better to Go to Hollywood Studios in the Morning or Afternoon?
Going early in the morning is always our recommendation for any of the 4 Disney World theme parks. It will always help you get to the most attractions that way.
While it’s almost always better to utilize all of your day in Hollywood Studios, expect it to be very crowded quickly. Guests flood Hollywood Studios more so than the other parks first thing due to their desire to rope drop and get on rides quickly, again, another reason to get there for rope drop.
If you’re content not riding on all of the main attractions, getting to Hollywood Studios in the afternoon can be lovely!
Guests migrate out of Hollywood Studios typically earlier than the other parks, and if you get there 4-5 hours prior to park closing you’ll have a great time! Wait times will be more tolerable and you’ll get the enjoy our favorite time at Hollywood Studios – the night!
Should You Use Lightning Lane?
Hollywood Studios is one of the stronger Walt Disney World parks for Lightning Lane Multi Pass because several popular attractions can develop long waits on the same day.
Rise of the Resistance is handled separately through Lightning Lane Single Pass, while attractions such as Slinky Dog Dash, Runaway Railway, Smugglers Run, Tower of Terror, and Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets may be part of Multi Pass selections.
Current tiers, eligibility, and pricing can change, so check the dedicated Lightning Lane guide and My Disney Experience before purchasing.
A good plan may combine Early Entry, standby attractions, Lightning Lane selections, and late-evening touring. Guests who arrive later or have limited time may get more value from Lightning Lane than guests who can rope drop and stay all day.
Transportation Options
Hollywood Studios has several transportation options, and your best choice depends on where you are staying and whether you are trying to arrive for Early Entry.
- Disney buses: The primary option from most Disney Resort hotels.
- Disney boats: Friendship Boats connect Hollywood Studios with the EPCOT-area resorts and EPCOT.
- Disney Skyliner: Connects Hollywood Studios with Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, and Riviera Resort.
- Walking: Guests at the BoardWalk-area resorts, Yacht Club, Beach Club, Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve may be able to walk.

For Early Entry, give yourself extra time for buses, Skyliner transfers, boat schedules, parking, security, and walking. Skyliner guests should be especially careful not to assume that the ride from their resort to Hollywood Studios will be immediate.
Guests driving should plan to arrive well before Early Entry, while rideshare users should still allow time for drop-off and security. The exact start time of transportation varies, so check posted resort transportation information.
At Park Close
Transportation can become busiest after Fantasmic!, Wonderful World of Animation, or an early event closing. Buses may continue operating while guests remain inside the park, while the Skyliner and boats follow their posted operating schedules and can be affected by weather or maintenance.
If you are not in a hurry, lingering for 20–30 minutes can help you avoid the first rush. Follow Cast Member directions and do not rely on one universal transportation cutoff time.
What to Expect From Future Hollywood Studios Park Hours
Hollywood Studios will likely continue using a rolling, demand-based schedule rather than one permanent set of hours. Disney may publish conservative hours first and extend them later as attendance projections become clearer.
Jollywood Nights, Disney After Hours, Extended Evening Hours, future construction, and new attractions can all affect the schedule. Disney has not announced one permanent future operating-hours change tied to Monstropolis or the Doors Coaster, so those projects should not be used to promise longer park days.
The safest approach is to use the published calendar for the specific trip, then verify the schedule again shortly before traveling and on the day of the visit.

When staying at the Boardwalk hotels it is a really nice walk to HS especially in the morning. Can walk at your own pace. Peaceful. Pretty views. No waiting in lines for transportation. I feel I'll be in lines all day so why not start and end the day with a relaxing stroll?

Do you have any sense how late the skyliner will be running during the after hours parties at Hollywood studio and Epcot summer of 2023? I’m especially concerned about Epcot because the walk from future world, world construction or whatever they’ve calling it these days to the skyliner is very long . Since the Epcot event just started, I haven’t seem any feedback on what happens at the skyliner resorts if you get in line for guardians right before 1 and it has an hour wait like it did the first after hours party? Hi Carol. Thanks for the comment. The Skyliner runs about an hour after the park closes, that should include After Hours events. If you show up to the Skyliner after 1 hour because you are still in line for something like Cosmic Rewind, then you may risk not making it. In that case if you are running late, your best bet is to take the buses since they will always wait until the last guest is out of the park

question from a person who hasn't been to the parks in a long while- Getting to Hollywood Studios by 7:15 am in order to get a chance at a boarding pass seems to be the general consensus. So, do they let you go through the admissions line and then wait inside the park or do you have to stand outside the gates in line prior to the 8am opening time. Sorry if that sounds like a dumb question. Just trying to plan accordingly. Thank you

As I understand it, having a 7AM opening is more difficult for on site guests because of transportation not being available early enough.
Fastpass is not an efficient system when the attraction breaks down. Those delays can't be taken into account with the Fastpass return times.
I believe the present system is the best at the present time to have to most people to experience the attraction.
Angry guests is not good for business. Disney would not do this on purpose.

I have to say this is very disappointing for a guest intending to stay on property. With the originally (For May) planned Extra Magic Hours being on Sunday AM, this was going to work really well. I would get to go to Toy Story land etc, and hangout there while I wait to start trying for boarding pass when the park opens to everyone else. I would have no new advantage. But now people staying in Disney hotels will add to the entrance crowd...and get a late Extra Magic, which after a day in the Florida heat is not welcoming, and would mean I do less the next day as I'll be tired. First World Problems I guess, but not having RoR open in EMH(Fine alone), AND having no morning EMH in Hollywood Studios is near worthless. Throw in high parking fees for an expensive hotel and staying offsite and saving big $ is becoming more appealing. [/rant]

Thanks for your thoughts John. Yes you are correct, the reasons for staying at a WDW resort are becoming less and less, and we are also frustrated with the situation. As for Morning EMH, that is another downside and the Evening EMH don't help nearly as much since RotR isn't running then. We believe it's tied to the reliability of the ride and hopefully those Morning EMH return after the summer is over
