Price Increase on Walt Disney World Snacks, Pretzels, Alcohol, and Dole Whip (Fall 2023)

Price increases at Walt Disney World are a regular occurrence, and if you are going in 2023 or 2024, you might be surprised at some of the latest price increases on snacks and food in general at the restaurants.

Recently Disney made some big price increases on Walt Disney World snacks at many quick service locations throughout the property including Mickey Pretzels, Ice Cream Bars, Dole Whip, Churros, Coffee, Turkey Legs, and Alcoholic Drinks.

In this latest round of increases, not only did snack prices go up, but also the price of most food and drink items at almost all the table service restaurants at Disney World too.

Price increases at Walt Disney World on snacks and food are normal, and Disney usually does an all-around snack price increase in October or the Winter, so we’re not surprised. This latest increase does come at a bad time however since guests and fans online have been bombarded with price increases for just about everything.

In this post, we are going to break down some of the latest price increases around Walt Disney World in Fall 2023, including hundreds of food, drinks, and snacks. Prices for character meals and buffets have increased across property as well.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear too many things escaped price hikes this time. Even though we hate when prices go up, we have to say that something like this was expected.

October is a common month at Walt Disney World for price increases, and with inflation running rampant throughout the world and food prices soaring, Disney food was bound to be affected once again.

The good news is that many of the items only went up $0.30-$0.50, so it’s unlikely to make a drastic impact on your future Disney World budget.

Restaurants and Bars

We checked out menus from other parks outside the Magic Kingdom and the resort hotels, and some menus reflected these changes, with some not having updated the new price changes totally.  We expect that to be fixed shortly.

Alcoholic drink price increases are all across the property with drinks like margaritas, martinis, beer, hard root beer floats, and the like going up between $.50 cent -$2 per drink in almost every location.

Jedi Mind Trick Oga's Cantina

For example, over at Oga’s Cantina in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, prices for all alcoholic drinks across the board went up including:

It’s not only in the theme parks, but even the restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort hotels have seen increases, both in the quick service and table service restaurants.

For example, here are some of the increases at Oliva’s Cafe at Disney’s Old Key West Resort:

What do the Latest Price Increases Mean?

Yes, it’s true that this is a seasonal price increase, and there were mixed results across the board. Some things got hit a lot harder than others. For example, alcohol got hit the hardest with a 7-10% increase on most mixed drinks.

$1-$2 on drinks that were already overpriced is a bit much.

I can’t imagine what people would do if Disney World ever got rid of the free ice water in a cup at quick service locations, people would riot.

I understand the company’s pressure to perform for stockholders and investors, but with price increases across Walt Disney World, Genie+ and Lightning Lanes, increases to merchandise prices, park tickets, parking, and annual passes, things are getting out of hand.

Latest Price Increases for Food in Walt Disney World 2

While these price hikes can be overwhelming to guests who are paying out of pocket for everything, the good news is that the Disney Dining Plan is finally coming back in 2024! The price impacts won’t affect Disney Dining Plan holders as much.

This price increase isn’t going to make a huge difference in the short term as raising the prices $1 or so on various snack items isn’t going to stop the family of four who is already dropping thousands on their vacation. If you want a Mickey Pretzel, the fact that it went up a few cents isn’t going to stop you.

However Disney can afford to raise the prices right now because the people are coming through the turnstiles, but they need to tread carefully here, as they could find themselves with a drop in attendance numbers if it continues too much.

Mickey Pretzel Disney World

Even the families that do go to Disney World now oftentimes have to be on such a strict budget, that they can’t enjoy as many of the snacks or drinks as they would like.

If the attendance continues to slip, there’s also the risk of all those awesome projects on the horizon for Disney World either getting axed or getting their budgets greatly reduced, which again is bad for the guests.

I’m not saying this is the end of the world and again the steam train that is Disney is going to most likely keep chugging along full speed ahead, but I hope in the near future the leadership within the company starts to take notice that a big part of its biggest fans are being squeezed out, not being able to afford a Disney vacation nearly as much as they would like, and some not at all.

I love this company and don’t want to see even more negative side effects happen down the road, and I definitely want their biggest supporters like all of you to be able to keep coming back to the place you love so much.

Let’s hope that Disney gets what’s going on and appreciates the people who made this place turn into what it is today.

We’ll continue to update you on any more price increases around Walt Disney World if and when that happens and which snacks have been affected so keep checking back for more updates…

I do agree that the prices are out of reach for a lot of folks....and it's not just people with kids. I too feel the bite of the prices and I have no kids. It's unfortunate that greed over rides the magic. I still go but I don't buy much in the parks. I bring my own water bottle and snacks. Anything to save some $$$. I think if Disney prices were more reasonable they would make more money because folks would feel better about going and buying more in the parks.

People will always go to Disney. I have my vacation booked if I didn't I don't think I would go. It's just crazy how much it cost to go . I do know this will be my last time I will be going to Disney. It' the only place I go on vacation so this will be my last vacation. You are just pricing yourself out for the normally. which are the ones that want to come. Goodbye Mickey Mouse

I too love Disney and have since I was a kid. I think Walt Disney would be very disappointed at what WDW is and has become. He meant for it to be affordable for families. It is no longer the happiest place on earth. It is ridiculous what they charge for everything. Tickets are out of sight and then you have to pay $30 for parking. It is very disheartening. I will be going with my family in December and am shocked at how much it is costing to this time versus the last time we went 4 years ago. Not sure that I will be going back again! ☹️

Ziggy sorry to hear these increases we are also being hit with a increase in our Florida seasonal pass with inflation the way it is going we don’t know how long we will be able to go like you one of favorite places to visit. So sad and in my opinion very greedy . From our last couple of visits most of the people in the parks were from another country. I would love to know the number difference between US citizens going to Disney World and people from other countries on a annual basis would be interesting.😃👍Keep up the great work Almost ready to throw in the towel. We are going in December for the Christmas celebration will let you know how much more it cost . Disney should wake up between going woke and pricing themselves out of reach for most people could signal the end t for them.🙁

Walt Disney would not have wanted to price out families. The first time I went to Disneyland my ticket was $3.25. A long time ago. My planned trip to DW in February may be my last.
