We are only weeks away from Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge opening in Disneyland and more and more information is flowing in every day. In the latest issue of D23, they revealed some amazing new photos which show of the incredible level of theming Disney Imagineers have taken to this ground-breaking new land!
We’re going to walk through some of these photos with you and show you what to expect. P.S., prepare to be blown away!!
It’s gonna be so sweet to admire all the spaceships you’ll find around Galaxy’s Edge, like this Resistance A-Wing:
This is the shuttle you’ll take into space onboard the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction when it opens up later this year:
We just recently outlined what the ride layout for Rise of the Resistance will be like if you want to take a look.
You’ll get to live out your childhood dream of stepping onboard, and even piloting the iconic Millennium Falcon. The interior is so real it looks just like from the films:
This room on the Falcon is just like the one where Leia and Han have a special moment in Empire Strikes Back:
Talk about details!!
Let’s take a look over at Dom Ondar’s Den of Antiquities where you’ll find some of the best artifacts and collectibles in the galaxy!
This guy is just hanging around. Get used to seeing droids in Galaxy’s Edge, they’ll be everywhere:
I wonder who took them out in order to get their helmets??
Yes, taxidermy is still a thing on Batuu. Can you name these space creatures??
Mysterious artifacts from both the Jedi and Sith:
Do you remember this Nexu from “Attack of the Clones”? He sure looks scary!
There are plenty of Easter eggs hidden throughout Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge including these crates inside Docking Bay 7:
They may look like nothing, but the number 80 is significant as it represents 1980, the year The Empire Strikes Back was released:
Look out for the 77 and the 83 too!
This door looks straight up out of a Star Wars film:
THIS is amazing!! A Rathtar frozen in carbonite in the queue for Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run:
With the Play Disney Parks app, you’ll be spending lots of time trying to translate the hidden messages throughout Galaxy’s Edge including this Aurebesh on the wall:
Don’t mind these blaster shots. No time to patch them up yet…
There is just so many details packed into Galaxy’s Edge, and these photos are only scratching the surface. It’s a real shame for the first 4 months you’ll only be able to stay in here for 4 hours, because by the looks of things you could stay days…
That’s everything for now but keep checking back right here at Ziggy Knows Disney for the latest updates on Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge as I’ll continue to update this post with more as the month goes on…
The Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge openings are almost here: May 31, 2019 in Disneyland and August 29, 2019 in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
