One of the most anticipated Disney events every year is the release of the Free Dining dates. Well today we finally have the Walt Disney World Free Dining 2017 information for you, including dates and strategies. What exactly is the Free Dining in 2017?
Guests will receiving either the Disney Quick Service Dining Plan or regular Disney Dining Plan when booking a stay in a Disney Resort. This requires a minimum of a 3 Night Stay with 2 Days of Park Hopper or Park Hopper + Tickets. Resort Guests are eligible for the following offers:
- Value Resort – Quick Service Dining Plan
- Moderate Resort – Quick Service Dining Plan
- Deluxe Resort – Disney Dining Plan
This is different from last year in that now the Moderate guests are no longer eligible for the regular Disney Dining Plan which includes 1 Table Service Meal per day, but now only the Quick Service Dining Plan.
- August 21 – September 30, 2017 (starting August 13th for Visa Cardholders and Canadian guests)
- November 14 – 20, 2017
- November 25 – 27, 2017
- December 8 – 23, 2017
You must book by July 7th in order to take advantage of the Free Dining Offer.
Is it worth it for me?
That depends. Disney has made their offers less and less appealing over the years, and they only reason they even make these offers is when they anticipate low occupancy for their resorts in an effort to fill those rooms. The fact that Moderate Resort guests are not eligible for table service is telling that they don’t expect there to be very many vacancies. This is due a bit to increased consumer confidence in the USA, and also the opening of Pandora: The World of Avatar, which is expected to draw a lot of guests to the parks this Fall.
This means that Free Dining isn’t nearly as good as it was in the past and you might be able to find even better offers throughout the year when some of the resort rooms are deeply discounted (take a look at the 2017 Disney World Room Only Offer for example). That being said if you are looking to book the Free Dining offer remember to be patient as there will be more than likely an overload of other people like yourself trying to book rooms, and be flexible with your dates which is the best way to be able to benefit from this offer.
For any information or questions or to book a stay using the Free Dining Offer you can contact Disney directly at 407-939-1852 or on the Disney World Website.
