Walt Disney World Entrances Getting Upgraded for 50th Anniversary

If you’ve ever traveled to Walt Disney World by car, you’ve seen the entrance signs signaling to you that you’ve made it! It’s definitely one of the best feelings in the world and lets you know “you’re in Disney World!”

Now those Walt Disney World entrance signs located on the roads are getting a makeover, including a brand new color scheme and slogan and we have a first look at the concept art for the finished signs.

Walt Disney World entrance road sign makeover

Before the sign read: “Where Dream Come True,” which was put there in 2006 for the “Year of a Million Dreams” celebration.

Now with Disney World’s 50th Anniversary coming up, the sign is changing and will now read: “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” which is the resort’s slogan.

The colors are changing too, and match the color scheme of the 50th Anniversary and on the Cinderella Castle refurbishment. The red letters have also been replaced by white ones and gold is highlighted around the arches.

Mickey Mouse Greeting Visitors Disney World Reopening

There are currently 5 of these Walt Disney World entrance signs on the highways and they can be found on

  • Hotel Plaza Boulevard
  • Osceola Parkway
  • Western Way
  • World Center Drive
  • World Drive

The Disney Parks Blog said:

“These refreshed gateways will continue to set the tone for all the stories you’ll tell and the memories you’ll cherish long after your visit.”

“They’re also part of the broad tapestry of new experiences happening across Walt Disney World as part of the resort’s historic transformation that includes expansive themed lands like Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, new attractions like Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and new places to stay like Disney’s Riviera Resort.”

We think the sign was overdue for a refreshing and we like the new color scheme as it goes well with the theming for the 50th celebration. Passing through the archways will be a great way to start your Walt Disney World vacation for years to come!

I think I liked "Where Dreams Come True" better. It's not bad, but I liked the old better.

I understand that Bruce. Maybe after a few years, the new one will grow on you too...
