It seems that Disney has made a policy change today for Walt Disney World Annual Passholders who are now required to show ID at the parking entrances if they want free parking.
Let me clarify. Technically it’s always been required for Annual Passholders to show ID when entering the parking lots, but it’s always been loosely enforced at best. Now today Chip and Co is reporting that Annual Passholders today have been asked to show their ID along with the MagicBands.
Apparently it’s somewhat common practice for guests to bring someone else’s MagicBand with them who is an Annual Passholder and use it to gain free parking at the parks. Now it seems that won’t be possible anymore. The only problem in that is now it will for sure make the lines to get into the parking lots at the parks all the longer.
We’ll keep you updated whether or not this turns out to be a permanent change or just something that their doing temporarily…
Your Thoughts:
I want to know what you think about Annual Passholders being required to show ID to get free parking…
- Do you think it’s a good move?
- How should it be checked?

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
