Recently we got a first look at an image of some on-ride footage of the Millennium Falcon Attraction coming to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge in both Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Now thanks to YouTube we can now see what looks like a video of Millennium Falcon test footage.
In the video we see what is described as “the last minute or so of a session at GTC 2018 where Disney showed off what Real Time Ray tracing of Star Wars looks like with 8 Nvidia GPU’s. Only 8 GPUS. This is possible thanks to AI Denoising technology. Note this is not a movie, this is live raytracing, or live rendering of a lightfield, the holy grail of computing.”
We know that Disney and NVidia are teaming up and using some very impressive hardware to make the Millennium Falcon as realistic as possible and we can’t wait to see what they come up with!

Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is opening in Disneyland on May 31, 2019 and in Hollywood Studios on August 29, 2019, and that post goes into more depth in narrowing down the dates.
