Disney has just dropped the official trailer for ‘The Mandalorian,’ the first Star Wars-based live action series which is coming to Disney+ with its launch on November 12. We’re going to break down the trailer with you and not only that, we also got to look at some new posters for The Mandalorian as well…
The Mandalorian has a very different feel to it than the Star Wars franchise films we’ve all grown up with. It has a very dark and gritty feel to it, and highlights a galaxy in chaos after the fall of The Empire in the events between The Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.
The official description reads:
“After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Warsuniverse. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”
The series stars Pedro Pascal as a bounty hunter and star of the show, and also stars Gina Carano, and Carl Weathers. Big-time producer Jon Favreau is heading up the project, so we’re especially excited for this one.
Let’s check out the posters first…

Here are the new posters for The Mandalorian that Disney has released before the Disney+ debut on November 12:
Trailers
The world premiere The Mandalorian trailer debuted during the D23 Expo, and we loved every minute of it there. While this new official Disney+ trailer is very similar, it offers some more insight into the characters in this new series.
Here is the new trailer for The Mandalorian. After we’re going to break it down scene-by-scene:
The trailer begins with The Mandalorian walking past some stormtrooper helmets where obviously a battle took place. We hear the voiceover talking about the aftermath of the destruction of the second Death Star and the condition of the galaxy currently. Is it better, is it worse?
It’s been a good five years after the events of Return of the Jedi and everything is in chaos without jurisdiction.
We get some nice images of The Mandalorian fighting off another bounty hunter in the desert:
and remnants of The Empire still in play:
Werner Herzog’s character is the one giving the opening dialog, and it looks like he is the one who upgrades The Mandalorian’s armor and sends him on his mission, which we then find out is about a little kid and his family:
At some point it looks like The Mandalorian turns on his boss and doesn’t follow through with the mission, instead choosing to do what is right and protect the kid. We then see a bunch of shots of the battles that occur after, and The mandalorian fighting off other bounty hunters that have come for him:
Shots like these call back to the spaghetti westerns of the 60’s and 70’s with the hero standing against the horizon
We get to see Carl Weathers’ character Greef Carga, and some other bounty hunters:
We get a look at The Mandalorian with Cara Dune who it looks like will be working together throughout the series:
IG-11 going to work:
and finally we get a look at The Mandalorian with the classic Boba Fett rifle:
You can also watch the original Mandalorian trailer here which was released at the D23 Expo:
The Mandalorian isn’t the only new Star Wars series that’s coming to Disney+. There is a Rouge One series taking place in the events before the film which will be released in 2020, and also an Obi-Wan Kenobi series which starts filming next year.
It’s a great time to be a Star Wars fan!
We can’t wait The Mandalorian drops on Disney+ November 12, what about you??

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
