In an exciting announcement at D23 Expo Japan this past weekend we learned that Pixar Pier is Opening June 23 in Disney California Adventure! Pixar Pier is a re-theming of Paradise Pier into: Pixar Pier, which will introduce four new neighborhoods from some of our Pixar favorites like “The Incredibles,” “Inside Out” and “Toy Story.” Pixar Pier won’t be a temporary thing but a total and permanent re-theming of the area.
Of course the main attraction of Pixar Pier will be the new Incredicoaster which is a complete renovation of California Screamin’. It will have character figures on the attraction, new lighting and special effects, plus a couple of show scenes built into it. California Screaming’ closed on Jan 8th, and the Incredicoaster will open up with Pixar Pier June 23.
Mickey’s Fun Wheel will be the center of the fourth neighborhood which will be a celebration of many of your favorite Pixar stories. Expect Mickey’s Fun Wheel to have a new look, with each of the 24 gondolas featuring different Pixar characters, but thankfully the iconic face of Mickey Mouse isn’t going anywhere and is staying on the Paradise Bay side of the wheel.
That however is not the beginning. Starting April 13, the first ever Pixar Fest will be taking over the Disneyland Resort. Pixar fest will include a stunning new float for “Paint the Night” parade which will include Pixar favorites like The Incredibles. Expect to see Jack-Jack come to life, showing all his superpowers in ways you’ve never seen before!
Pixar Fest will feature the debut of the all-new fireworks show “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular.” all new pyrotechnics, music and will take you on a journey of how the Pixar characters first met. This will be about friendship, and will show how they set out on adventures and overcome obstacles together, “Together Forever” celebrates the everlasting friendships forged by beloved Pixar pals.
There are also 3 New Pixar Play Parade Floats coming to Disneyland, including from “Up,” “Inside Out,” and the Pixar Lamp and Ball themselves.
We also just heard that Edna Mode will be coming to both Disneyland and Disney World. She’ll be stationed in Tomorrowland at Disney’s Magic Kingdom during the Incredible Tomorrowland Expo and in Disney California Adventure in Disneyland as part of Pixar Fest.
Pixar Fest will include new décor, atmosphere entertainment, themed food and beverage and new merchandise items. It’s a must see so get down there this Spring and Summer to experience all the fun firsthand!

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
