As you might know, the International Gateway has always been a quiet little back entrance into Epcot for guests at the Epcot area resorts, that is about to change as the new guest entrance to the International Gateway is now open in Epcot.
The reason for the expansion is because of the newest transportation in Walt Disney World the Disney Skyliner. The Skyliner system brings many guests from the Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, Art of Animation and the new Riviera Resort to the back entrance of Epcot instead of the front like they previously did.
More people means a bigger entrance is needed.
Today while walking into Epcot we saw that the new entrance is now open! Let’s take a look…
Above is the area that the security line has stood for sometime, but now is gone. That’s because the security check point has moved up closer to the entrance where new turnstiles have been built.
After going through security you can see where the new ticket turnstiles are:
It doesn’t seem that big as we spotted 6 turnstiles there. This is from the inside of Epcot:
Here’s a better shot from inside Epcot of the whole thing:
You can see the aforementioned Disney Skyliner in the background:
As you can notice, there is still a bit of construction going on at the International Gateway even though it’s now open. It looks very minor though and should be finished shortly:
Let us know what you think about the new International Gateway Entrance!
There’s also a new entrance going in at the front of Epcot in Future World, you can check out all our latest updates on that here.

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
