We’ve been anticipating it for months and finally today Disney announced the Wine Bar George opening date will be May 19th. This will be the grand opening and will be held at 5pm. Then the next day, May 20th, Wine Bar George will begin normal operations with hours from 11am – 2am. No, that’s not a typo, until 2am! I can get on board with this as I love to see some more places that stay open for us night owls! Will definitely be my spot for that!
If you don’t know about Wine Bar George, it’s owned an run by Master Sommelier George Miliotes (yes he’s the George in the name) who is one of only 249 of them in the world. So the guy certainly knows his wine! They will have on hand over 130 wine selections which will be available by the ounce, glass and bottle from all years and vintages.
Wine isn’t the only thing on the menu though, Wine Bar George also has an extensive menu of snacks, cured meats, cheeses, appetizers and even meals to pair perfectly with your wine. You can check out the Wine Bar George Menu here.
Wine Bar George will be located on The Landing in Disney Springs and will have 200 seats for guests. The location also means that the surrounding ambiance will be stunning with wonderful waterfront views.
Another cool option if you don’t feel like eating in the restaurant, is the new quick service restaurant “The Basket at Wine Bar George.” Here you can by food and wine prepared picnic-style so that you can take your food to go and enjoy it outside. The Basket at Wine Bar George just released its full menu the other day, and our mouths are already watering!
It seems like for the first month Wine Bar George will be walk-ins only, and guests can start making reservations starting My 25th, for dates starting June 25th and after. It looks like Wine Bar George is going to be a great addition to Disney Springs, I can’t wait to sit down with a glass or two and a nice plate of salami and cheese. What could be more perfect than that!? 🙂
