According to the Orlando Sentinel what we’ve been anticipating for months now is finally being confirmed: A Walt Disney World Gondola system is coming. This Gondola system will have 6 Stations that will link: Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Caribbean Beach Resort, Pop Century and Art of Animation. Each car will hold 10 guests.
Documents were received by the Orlando Sentinel from the Randy Creek Improvement District confirming the worst kept secret at WDW. Disney has still not confirmed the project but responded to the Orlando Sentinel saying: “We are always looking to explore new transportation options that will make the resort experience even more magical for guests. We’re excited about our future plans on this front and look forward to sharing details at a later date.” Even so, at this point it would take something really drastic for this not to happen.
Disney has been referring to this project as “The Italian Job” in reference to the Gondola name probably. Not much else is known about the project including the possible finish date, however you can expect it before Star Wars Land opens up in 2019 imo.
I LOVE this project, I have a lot of fond memories as a kid riding the Skyway system in the Magic Kingdom. That system brought people from Tomorrowland to Fantasyland, and I was always sorry it closed. Now we are getting an even bigger version. Besides the fun factor, it will also help relieve some of the auto traffic that there is in the area, so it’s a win-win for everyone.
Many of my readers have commented on the fact that it’s scary and they would never get on it, and thankfully there’s still the bus system or cars. But for me personally I’m really looking forward to this, as the different Disney Transportation Systems have always been a highlight for me, from the Monorail to the Boats and Buses. Now we are potentially adding the coolest one of all!
Stay tuned for more updates.

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.

I still can't help think this is a late April fools joke. I really just can't see it happening. They tried a similar scheme in London and from what I understand it has been an expensive disaster. But hey; if it is happening I want a ride :)

Yeah I mean anything is possible until Disney officially starts the construction I guess, but there are too many signs pointing towards it happening that I think you can rest easy. :) As for the ride, me too! I want to go on it bad!
