After closing about 9 months ago, the return of the Disney California Adventure show: World of Color has been delayed again until sometime in 2019.
The World of Color show was supposed to reopen back in June originally, but they then delayed it saying it would be done by the end of 2018. Obviously that’s not happening now.
Disney has not said the exact reason for the closure, but it seems that they’ve run into a lot of problems with the control panel after part of the support was submerged. A lot of work has been done on the underwater screens and fountains and they have had delays due to the show’s fountains not testing properly.
Disneyland Resort spokesperson Liz Jaeger had this to say today to the Orange County Register: “We know our guests love World of Color and we have been working diligently to bring this experience back as soon as we can. We are hopeful the show will return in the next several months.”
That doesn’t exactly sound like a ringing endorsement of hope, as it was supposed to be fixed months ago already. No word yet if they are in fact developing a Villainous show when it comes back, but it doesn’t seem to be the case at this time.
Disney hasn’t given any word besides these comments about the return of World of Color, so honestly I wouldn’t get my hopes up for anything before Summer.

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
