Talking Mickey Mouse in Magic Kingdom Going Silent in May

Talking Mickey Mouse Magic KingdomAs an update to the rumor reported last month, it seems that the Talking Mickey Mouse in Magic Kingdom going away is indeed happening.  This will go into effect May 12th.  Mickey Mouse will still have a character meet and greet in the Town Square Theater in Disney’s Magic Kingdom, but it will be a silent version not the talking one.  UPDATE – 5/13/18: This change has now gone into effect.

The reason for this story is because of technical difficulties and guest difficulties, but like most things at Disney World, budget concerns are also in play.  It’s possible a talking Mickey could return at some point in the future, but for now guests will go back to the silent one here like through the rest of the Walt Disney World Resort.

I want to know which Mickey Mouse you prefer?  Talking or Silent, and why?

Talking Mickey was the best. I can’t believe Disney is silencing him. I can’t even think of a good reason for that to happen. Please don’t say budget....take a look at the park fee, the fact that tickets have limited dates. The cost of the annual pass, the list goes on. Disney Is my happy place but I miss the days when guests were important and executives didn’t Have increasingly exorbitant salaries at our expense.
