This weekend is a dream for fans over at Star Wars Celebration and Disney has dropped some brand new details about Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge which give us a better idea of what the land will be like. Let’s get into the latest news…
Galaxy’s Edge General Info:
We already knew that your choices will have a big impact on your experience inside Galaxy’s Edge, and we learned more that your choices on the attractions will be either for the Light Side or the Dark Side and they will then have consequences on what happens to you.
- Guests will live out the adventures they’ve always imagined as Galaxy’s Edge is the most immersive, ambitious project yet. Josh Gad says it’s the single most insane thing ever seen built in any park.
- Dok Andor head of the Black Market in the Black Spire Outpost
- John Williams creating the music for Galaxy’s Edge
- Frank Oz will be voicing Yoda in Galaxy’s Edge
Here are some shot from the video sneak peak inside Galaxy’s Edge:
We got a look at what the Play Disney Parks app will look like inside Galaxy’s Edge:
Hack, Scan, Translate, Tune are some of the functions in the app. You will be able to interact with droids and your environment:
Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run:
Of course we’re anticipating the Millennium Falcon Smuggler’s Run ride and we got a new look inside the Millennium Falcon and learned some cool new details about it.
When you get on the Falcon you become the flight crew and take control of the ship yourself with a total of 6 guests in each cockpit. Everyone has a role and will need to fulfill their role in order to have a successful mission
The cool thing is that how well you do will have an effect on your experience outside in Galaxy’s Edge. Even the hallway will take damage inside if you take lots of damage outside. Do your best to bring back the ship in good order otherwise Hando will make you pay for it.
We got to watch a video show the Hondo animatronic which was amazing!
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance:
The Rise of the Resistance ride is located in the ancient ruins of Galaxy’s Edge before going up into space.
Guests get caught in the star destroyer and put in prison, and you’re going to have to break out to get off, and that’s exactly what you’ll do!
Come face to face with Kylo Ren, Poe, Rey and BB-8 during the attraction.
Again how well you do affects your experience outside and if you can survive the encounter you will be celebrated as a hero of the Resistance and celebrated throughout the land.
At Star Wars Celebration Disney also announced lots of other new details for Galaxy’s Edge including how the Play Disney Parks App will work when inside, and they also showed off the brand new Lightsabers which will be available for purchase! You’ve gotta check them out!

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
