Construction for the Tron Coaster coming to Disney’s Magic Kingdom started February 6, 2108 and things are already moving in a big way. The Tron Coaster Land clearing is now well underway and @Bioreconstruct posted some really nice photos showing the construction project in progress.
Lots of trees have already been cut down and it looks a lot different from a couple of weeks ago even. From up on the Contemporary Resort you can get a good view of the Tron Coaster construction site, which is located right next to Space Mountain and along World Drive:
A total of 8 acres of trees will have to be cut down during the construction according to the permits and things should move very fast in the next couple months.
This map shows the exact location of the Tron Coaster construction site. Note the vicinity to Space Mountain:
Here is a closer shot from World Drive:
Then from the spot between Storybook Circus and Tomorrowlandyou can see the Tron Coaster construction site across the train tracks:
Lots of big machinery already in there:
The Tron Lightcycle Run Coaster is expected to open in 2021, in time for the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World. Stay tuned for more updates.

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
