With the opening of Star Wars Land in both Disneyland and Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios in 2019, some changes are sure to come to the existing Star Wars based entertainment in the Disney Parks. According to Disney officials, the Jedi Training Show: “Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple” in Disneyland will be closing down soon in Tomorrowland.
Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple in Disneyland will have its last show on November 3rd. Disney officials commented on the show’s closing: “At the Disneyland Resort, we continually refine and adjust our creative entertainment offerings while still preserving the guest experience.”
To the contrary to other rumors, it seems that the Jedi Training Academy show in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is not closing, at least for now.
There has always been the question with what Disney plans on doing with the already existing Star Wars rides and entertainment in Disneyland and Hollywood Studios. Both parks have Star Tours (which I don’t think you’re going to have an easy time moving) and they both have Star Wars Lunch Bays and Jedi Training stage shows.
Since Galaxy’s Edge is going to need entertainment, that could easily be moved into there from their existing locations. I’m not sure though that guests won’t want a new show and not just the same one moved over a few hundred yards. From the Disney comments it does seem like it’s going to get re-worked somehow, so hopefully we see a new and improved version of it. It’s also super popular with kids so at the worst we’re just going to see a different version of it down the line…
As for Jedi Training in Hollywood Studios it seems that it’s safe for now, but Disney has been known to say attractions are staying open, when they just aren’t ready to make a public announcement about it, so keep an eye on this one for more…
Your Thoughts:

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
