After more than a year of speculation we finally got word of a Guardians of…
We just received some awesome info from D23 Expo Japan including info on some of Walt Disney World’s most anticipating attractions. We got some new info about one of Epcot’s new attractions, and we found out the Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster will be one of the longest rollercoasters in the world!!
We’ve known for some time the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction would be a coaster, and that it wouldn’t include any inversions. Disney also confirmed it “feature a brand-new innovative ride system.” Also speculation about the opening date was confirmed, with Disney giving the Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster a 2021 opening, in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration!
“As we build upon its core mission of optimism and hope to inspire the world, the real will become fantastic and the fantastic will become real—in whole new ways at Epcot,” Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, said.
So with no inversions it doesn’t seem like it will be an overly intense attraction, but the fact that it will be really long is very encouraging, probably indicating there will be a lot of storytelling in play. We’ve already speculated on some of the possible show rooms and how the Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster will be laid out.
If you weren’t excited about this attraction coming to Epcot before hopefully this will change your mind. I think it’s a shot in the arm that Epcot desperately needs and will be the first step in a completely new Epcot in the next 5-7 years! Stay tuned for more Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster info as soon as we have it!
I want to know what you think about Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway Opening in 2019. Are you excited about Mickey finally getting his own attraction? Let us know in the comments section below!
