The Disney Vacation Club has just announced an expansion coming to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa where it will be adding 200 new homes to the property.
This is not a new construction from the ground up. Instead, an existing building at the Grand Floridian Resort will be converted from regular hotel rooms to Disney Vacation Club homes.
As of this writing, there are only 100 DVC rooms at the Grand Floridian Resort and this expansion will effectively triple occupancy. This is important due to the extreme popularity of the resort which is strategically located on the Seven Seas Lagoon and the Monorail loop.
The transformation will take place in the Big Pine Key building (building nine), remodeling its approximate 200 rooms into Resort Suites that can accommodate up to five guests each.
Senior Vice President of the Disney Vacation Club, Terri Schultz, stated: “This is great news for Disney Vacation Club and our Members. It will provide us with new and diverse inventory at a resort that is cherished by our Members and their families.”
These new DVC Villas will include stunning views of the Seven Seas Lagoon and are conveniently located near the main building and in between the two pools. That will make for easy access to the resort’s amenities and transportation to Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
These new Villas are an expansion of The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and will be a part of its current condominium association like all the other DVC Resorts at Walt Disney World. The current villas offer a mix of accommodation styles, ranging from Deluxe Studios to three-bedroom Grand Villas.
At this time there is no concept art of the new DVC homes, but we will share them with you as soon as they are made available. Also, information about the sales and rental of these new bookings will be released at a future date. Stay tuned for more soon.

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
