The Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is finally complete and we have a full walkthrough of the resort for you with a tour of the rooms, lobby and restaurants and lounges.
The hotel officially opens July 9, 2019 but Disney has already started showing off the Gran Destino Tower to members of the media and giving tours of this amazing new space. I have to say I’m totally floor with how gorgeous the space is!
Let’s take a look…
Gran Destino Outside:
A look across the lake reveals the brand new Gran Destino Tower, and it surely is impressive at 16 floors high:
It’s gonna have some great views of the fireworks, that’s for sure!
It looks equally as cool at night with the outside of the tower lit up, and the center column colored in blue:
Gran Destino Tower Lobby:
As impressive as the outside of the Gran Destino Tower is, the inside is where I was really blown away:
The lobby of the hotel is absolutely breath-taking and much grander and more beautiful that I had imagined it would be. From the jaw-dropping chandeliers to beautiful Spanish tiles, murals and wall patterns, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort honors the rich cultures and landscapes of Spain, Mexico, and the American Southwest.
The two-story lobby is very impressive and it’s the details around the place that really stand out. There are intricate wooden screens with rows of dazzling Moorish hanging lanterns throughout adding to the charm.
The chandelier in the center of the lobby is remarkable and the whole space breathtaking:
Gran Destino Tower Rooms:
As nice as the lobby is, the guest rooms are equally as nice. There are 545 new guest rooms in total —including 50 suites. Disney is definitely going after a higher clientele, especially with the suites and targeting business executives coming to the Coronado for conferences.
Even over at the regular rooms in the Coronado Springs Resort, all 1,800 existing rooms have also been reimagined with new furnishings, lighting and fixtures.
Guests can enjoy a variety of room types at the Gran Destino Tower such as Standard Rooms with One or Two Beds, One Bedroom Suites, Executive Suites, and a Presidential Suite.
All of the rooms, big or small are beautiful and blend Old World Spanish style with modern design.
Everything is sleek and modern, with Spanish influence.
If you happen to have one of the rooms with a water view then you’re in for a treat because many rooms have sweeping views of Lago Dorado.
One feature that’s really cool are the new interactive TVs.
This new interactive television system is available in every guest room and suite in Gran Destino Tower and provides a more customized in-room experience for guests:
The bathrooms are clean and spacious and also pretty sizable:
Barcelona Lounge:
The Gran Destino Tower has plenty of dining options available to enjoy including 2 restaurants and 2 bar/lounges. At the Barcelona Lounge you can enjoy craft beers, select wines and artisanal cocktails:
Dahlia Lounge:
For a lounge with an amazing view, head up to the top floor of the Gran Destino Tower and have a drink at the Dahlia Lounge:
You can eat inside or out, and enjoy small plates or signature cocktails crafted by expert mixologists. The great part about it is that if you have a table on the balcony you will have one of the best views in Walt Disney World:
Toledo – Tapas, Steak and Seafood:
Right next door is Toledo – Tapas, Steak and Seafood where you can have a table-service dining experience, again offering breathtaking views of Walt Disney World Resort from the tower’s 16th floor:
The atmosphere inside looks amazing:
You can even watch the chefs prepare the meals in the onstage kitchen:
Three Bridges Bar and Grill:
Lastly is another amazing dining location at the Gran Destino Tower, Three Bridges Bar and Grill:
Different from the rooftop dining of Toledo – Tapas, Steak and Seafood, Three Bridges Bar and Grill is located down on the water in the middle of Lago Dorado. It’s a very similar feel to Gyser Point Bar and Grill, so if you like that you’ll really love this.
Enjoy entrees, appetizers, refreshing cocktails and the signature sangria pitchers:
We recently got to dine here and were very pleased with the quality, portions, and service. Definitely go for the cheese dip!!!
All this and more is what you have to look forward to when you visit the brand new Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. I think the design, atmosphere and feel exceeded any expectations I had going in, especially since this is a Moderate level Disney World hotel.
I think it’s a great addition to the Walt Disney World Resort hotels and we’ll be spending quite some time here in the future.
The Gran Destino Tower officially opens to guests July 9, 2019.

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
