Disney’s Magical Express Now Picking Up Guests 4 Hours Before Flight

Magical Express Now Picking Up Guests 4 Hours beforeIf you thought leaving Disney World was already bad enough, now your trip home just got longer.  Recently the Transportation Security Administration at the Orlando International Airport has increased the security screenings for guests arriving at the airport.  Because of this change and because of the increased passengers for the holiday season, starting tomorrow November 17th, Disney’s Magical Express will now be picking up guests 4 hours before their flight.

It’s a decent-sized jump seeing as the normal procedure has been that Disney’s Magical Express will pick you up 3 hours before your flight.  How long will it stay 4 hours?  That’s still undecided.  Disney is going to re-evaluate the policy in January, after the holiday is over and go from there.  If the new TSA procedure changes after the holidays are over then you could see it go back to normal.

Whatever the case, make sure you are ready 4 hours before so that you make your flight in time!  Stay tuned for any changes…

I am very disappointed to lose the Disney’s Magical Express service. As a DVC member, the free transportation and luggage service were perks that helped me make my decision when I joined. My family is large and I can’t imagine fitting all of us and our luggage in a vehicle other than a bus. I agree with you on your opinions about the train - it doesn’t seem reasonable to get to the train with luggage, strollers, etc and then transfer at Disney Springs. I am hopeful that new options may emerge.

There are now very few perks left for DVC membership and I will not be recommending it to friends and families any longer.
