The most extensive refurbishment that has been done Disneyland’s Grand Californian is currently underway and in full gear! The rooms aren’t totally done yet, but one look at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel remodeled rooms and you can’t help but be impressed! I mean these things are gorgeous. Currently all the hotel rooms are getting a refurbishment, as well as the Pool Areas, the Concierge Craftsman Club as well as new furniture coming to the immense lobby.
It’s been some years since I’ve visited the Grand Californian, but me and my family have had the pleasure of staying there 3 times and the experience has always been incredible. It’s won the AAA Four Diamond Award for 16 years in a row, every year since its opening in 2001. So now I can only imagine when they are done what it will be like!
Here’s a closer look at the enhancements to the guest rooms:
To me they look luxurious, yet all the while keeping that ambiance of being in the great outdoors. The rooms will be totally overhauled, everything from the floors, walls furnishings, beddings, linens, and the bathrooms will all be new. The floors will be a mix of both rustic hard wood, and brightly toned carpeting. The furniture will be made from natural oak, specifically designed for each room, and will include artwork created by the imagineers. Look at the awesome Orange Tree above the beds! You might even spot Chip and Dale hiding in the headboard!
All this is great, but when will they open? I don’t have an exact date, but expect to see the first role out soon. The entire project should be completed by the end of 2017. Stay tuned for more updates on the project!
