Hurricane Irma did some damage around the Walt Disney World resort a couple of weeks ago, and knowing that would happen Disney was proactive by closing the parks for 2 days as well as some other locations around property including Fort Wilderness. Well most of the resort has already been up and running, and now Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground is reopening after almost a 2 weeks closure.
Due to the nature of the resort (no pun intended), there was a bit more extensive of a cleanup at the Fort Wilderness Campground than other places around property which took extra time. Nothing too bad, mostly trees like the rest of the damage on Walt Disney World property, but it needed to be cleaned up before letting guests back in.
With the reopening of the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground also means that the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue and Mickey’s Backyard BBQ are back up and running too!

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
