Big Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Expansion Coming

Caribbean Beach Resort ExpansionLast Summer all the talk was about a new Caribbean Beach Resort Expansion coming, and that it would be a new Disney Vacation Club property.  Well we were waiting for months now, and today’s it’s being reported that it’s been confirmed.  Disney has filed for a big expansion of the Caribbean Beach Resort.

The plans say there will be 7 new buildings on the property, including a big multi-level one, which the feeling is will be residence with guest rooms.  It seems like this will be built where the existing Barbados part of the resort is, which means that will be torn down.  Some work will also be done to the roads and retention ponds in and around the property to accommodate this expansion.

Construction on the project should begin this year (2017) with a target completion date of 2019.  This has all still yet to be confirmed by Disney itself, but it seems pretty clear now that the project is a go and is a welcome expansion to the Caribbean Beach Resort.  I love this idea as soon Disney will be in need of more rooms with all the new park expansions coming in Avatar, Toy Story, Star Wars, plus whatever new announcements are made at D23.  Stay tuned as more info comes out.

Can you tell me how involved the refurbishments are that are currently going on at Caribbean Beach Resort. We have a trip planned for next week.

Very Very sad They have ruined the best resort to stay at if you like Calm quite relaxing not overly populated , guess its no longer a priority to Disney for folks to have a quality Caribbean type vacation experience without hi rise buildings and a transportation hub that will absolutely take away from this once beautiful resort and no doubt have the prices rise thru the roof as I'm sure will now be made into a Deluxe resort WE will look elsewhere to stay even possibly and most likely off site

that's a good point about the high buildings, doesn't really fit in too well with the Caribbean vibe does it?
