Disney has announced that Blizzard Beach will be closing starting in September for its annual refurbishment to the park. This time though that closure will be much longer and last 4 months total.
Blizzard Beach will be closed from September 8, 2019 to January 4, 2020 which is just about 4 months long in total. It’s common for Disney to close down Blizzard Beach during the colder season as not many guests would visit, plus there are some regular maintenance that always need to be done.
This refurbishment however is a bit uncommon in that it last 6 weeks longer than normal, and this indicates perhaps some potential enhancements being added to Blizzard Beach by the time it reopens.
I don’t think any big changes are going to be added like a new attraction (there would already be plans in circulation) but there could be other enhancements perhaps to the dining options,, adding new technology throughout the park or small improvements to the attractions.
Whatever it is that changes we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we find out more info. Stay tuned here to Ziggy Knows Disney for all the latest on the Blizzard Beach refurbishment!
