With only 2 months left till the debut of Mary Poppins Returns on December 19th, excitement for the sequel to perhaps one of the most beloved films of all-time is at its peak. To add to that anticipation Disney has just released a new trailer showing a new song from Mary Poppins Returns called: “Can You Imagine That?”
One of the coolest parts of the new video (besides the dolphin in the bathtub) is all the callbacks to Mary Poppins classic songs like “Jolly Holiday” and “Chim Chim Cher-ee,” and the way that Disney has mixed in hand-drawn animation into the scenes. I totally love it and it plays on your nostalgia from the original film.
Mary Poppins Returns stars: Emily Blunt (Mary Poppins), Lin-Manuel Miranda (Jack), Meryl Streep (Topsy), Colin Firth (William Whetherall Wilkins), Angela Lansbury (The Ballon Lady), and even Dick Van Dyke (Mr Dawes Jr.)! It’s being directed by Rob Marshall, and features all new original songs by Broadway stalwarts Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, as well as a musical score by Shaiman.
