One of the hottest and anticipated Disney rumors has been about a Tron Roller Coaster Coming to Tomorrowland in Disney’s Magic Kingdom. Today at the D23 Expo we got word that the Tron Lightcycle Power Run Coaster is in fact coming to Walt Disney World and the Speedway is staying! The concept art looks incredible!!!
As announced by Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek today, the new Tron Coaster will be in an entirely new area next to Space Mountain and behind the Tomorrowland Speedway. Just like the Shanghai version of the attraction, riders will climb aboard two-wheeled Lightcycles, and will finally add some “future” to Tomorrowland. It’s gotten rave reviews and is the #1 rated attraction in Shanghai Disneyland.
So now a lot of Disney fans can also rest easy knowing the Speedway is staying, but is it getting an upgrade? That they didn’t say, but I would find it hard to believe that they would keep it in it’s current form with the beautiful Tron behind it. This is one part of a big renovation to Walt Disney World before it’s 50th Anniversary in 2021. Stay tuned for more updates….

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
