A brand new store called: The Dress Shop is coming to Disney Springs at the end of March. Created by Disney Merchandise, it will sell new apparel and accessories that will bring a sense of nostalgia to shoppers.
The Dress Shop merchandiser Donna Sorrow had this to say: “We designed The Dress Shop collection for guests who want to emulate their favorite Disney characters or theme park attractions in a fun, retro way,” explained Donna. “These items aren’t costumes, rather the collection contains perfect outfits for guests who have a passion for Disney style.”
It’s been in development for about 1 year, and gets its inspiration from some classic Disney attractions like: “It’s a Small World,” “Tower of Terror,” “The Haunted Mansion,” and the “Enchanted Tiki Room.” They will make great outfits to wear to the parks.
Besides attractions, other dress designs were inspired by classic Disney characters and stories like Minnie Mouse, Snow White and “Alice in Wonderland.” There are also matching accessories, such as handbags resembling an apple, the White Rabbit, or a Hollywood Tower Hotel suitcase to go along with the dresses.
You can see the whole collection starting March 31st at the Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs, where there will be a special trunk show showing off some of the wears. In April there will be a limited selection also available in the Magic Kingdom. California Disney fans can see some of the apparel at Vault 28 in the Downtown Disney District in the Disneyland Resort.
As of now you will only be able to buy The Dress Shop apparel in the Disney Parks as the collection will not be available, at least not right away, online.
