Even though we are still eagerly anticipating Star Wars: The Last Jedi in theaters, we now know the Star Wars Episode 9 release date: May 24th 2019. This comes as a bit of a surprise in that Episodes 7 and 8 as well as Rogue One all had release dates in December, meanwhile Episode 9 will be a Summer release. I’m not sure this matters as Star Wars is going to have huge success no matter when it comes out.
The interesting thing to me about all of this is the Episode 9 release date could correlate to the opening of Star Wars Land in Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Resort. It seems Disney’s trend to make their big openings in May lately and this would go along with that: Episode 9 release along with the Star Wars Land Opening.
In addition to Star Wars Episode 9, Indiana Jones 5 also has a release date of July 10, 2020. Both Steven Spielberg, director of every Indiana Jones film, and star Harrison Ford will return for what could be the final chapter.
