A new Spaceship Earth lounge is coming to EPCOT in 2025 overlooking World Celebration and it looks amazing!
For over 40 years, Spaceship Earth has welcomed visitors to EPCOT as a shining beacon of optimism and hope. This just-announced lounge is inspired by the stories, shapes, and enduring legacy of this timeless icon.
The original announcement was made at the “Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase” during the D23 Expo at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, where Disney confirmed plans for the new Spaceship Earth lounge inside the location of the former corporate lounge.
Disney shared the first concept art for the lounge which takes inspiration from the geometric sphere, the zen space to gather and enjoy refreshments will be draped with rich textures and warm metallic tones, giving it a mysterious and elegant intimacy.
It also looks like it will be a pretty sweet place to watch the EPCOT fireworks while enjoying a cocktail.
Menu (Food and Drinks)
At this time, Disney hasn’t shared any info about what type of drinks and food will be served at the Spaceship Earth lounge. However, it’s easy to imagine a wide variety of drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Things like beer, wine as well as Spaceship Earth-themed cocktails, will do doubt be on the menu.
Also, at almost all Walt Disney World lounges there is also a nice variety of small plates good for eating yourself or share with others. Think things like wings, flatbreads, soups, cheese boards, chips and dips, etc. I don’t believe there is a full kitchen close-by which would limit the type of food they are able to serve, so don’t expect a full menu.
In any case, the theming, fireworks-viewing and the potential cocktails are going to make this a must-try lounge when visiting EPCOT.
When is the Spaceship Earth Lounge Opening?
The Spaceship Earth lounge sounds awesome, but when can we expect it to open? So far we don’t have an exact date, but Disney has announced that it will open sometime in 2025. Since the lounge is taking over an existing location and not being built from scratch, we don’t expect to see many construction delays and the project should move relatively quickly.
Once an announcement is made by Disney we will let you know.
And when it opens, and we have a chance to try it out, we will do a full tour and review of all the food and drinks available. Given its optimal location, we can imagine it will end up landing pretty high on our list of the best Bars in Disney World once it’s finished.
