Soarin’ Across America Coming to Disney World and Disneyland

Disney has announced that a new version of the fan-favorite attraction Soarin’ is coming to Walt Disney World and Disneyland, and it will be taking guests for a tour of America! This third iteration of the ride will be called: “Soarin’ Across America.”

That’s right, you’ll soon be Soarin’ Across America starting in Summer 2026 both at EPCOT in Walt Disney World and at Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort.

The new bi-coastal offering will showcase the United States—from sea to shining sea—highlighting some of the country’s natural beauty and iconic cityscapes. This will be brought to life with the iconic elements that make Soarin’ unforgettable – the flight, the sights and score, even the scents!

Walt Disney Imagineering is hard at work capturing more than a dozen breathtaking locations for the new flight.

Whether you’re taking off from Disney California Adventure park in California or EPCOT in Florida, you’ll be part of the journey that honors the heart and spirit of the nation as it soars into its 250th birthday celebration.

If you have been on Soarin’ Around the World or Soarin’ Over California before, the idea is the same. You will experience simulated flight with the huge screen in front of you as well as the signature scents of each location. With more than a dozen locations you will visit on Soarin’ Across America, expect lots of variety on this journey.

Soarin' Across America filming

While we know Soarin’ Across America will be coming to both EPCOT and Disney California Adventure, we still don’t know if this will be a temporary change for the 250th anniversary of the United States or if it will be sticking around for the long term.

Disney rolled out the original version of Soarin in 2005, “Soarin’ Over California.” That was beloved by Disney fans for years, and then they introduced “Soarin’ Around the World” as its replacement in 2016. At times Disney has brought back “Soarin’ Over California” for limited runs as well.

So it will be interesting to see what they decide to do with this new version.

What I would really love to see is a randomized version of the ride. If there were like 20-30 different scenes, but you didn’t get to see all of them on one ride, but they rotate and are mixed randomly. This would add a ton of re-rideability to Soarin instead of the same sequence of videos each time through.

We are also do not have a specific opening date for Soarin’ Across America at this time. The only thing we know is that it will open in Summer 2026. I would think it will be more toward the beginning of the season, like at the end of May or early June so that all summer travelers can experience it. This is what Disney typically does with new attractions, but it’s not a hard and fast rule.

As soon as we find out the opening date I’ll post it here for you.

In the meantime, here is a promotional video for Soarin’ Across America, and it has a friend you may recognize:
