Disney’s Contemporary Resort New Year’s Eve Parties

Disney's Contemporary Resort New Year's Eve partiesThis year there are 3 new Disney’s Contemporary Resort New Year’s Eve parties, each one offering something different and unique, and giving guests a “can’t miss” Walt Disney World experience!

“Disney Countdown to Midnight”

If you are looking for an evening of dining and dancing, fantastic dining, and live music, look no further!  There will be an interactive band and DJ will fill the dance floor (and we hear that Mickey and Minnie may make a special appearance). Then welcome in 2018 with a flute of bubbly and a viewing of those legendary New Year’s Eve fireworks in the Magic Kingdom (If you haven’t seen them, then you are in for a real special treat!)

Hours are 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the Fantasia Ballroom.  This party is designed for guests 18 and older.

“Pixar Party: A New Year’s Eve Celebration”

Since the adults have a party, obviously the children need one too!  This is for children of all ages, a family-friendly Disney•Pixar-inspired dinner.

Sarge welcomes you to the Ballroom of the Americas that features vignettes of beloved Pixar movies.  There is an immersive collection of theatrical backdrops, dramatic set pieces and fun props that recreate beloved scenes such as: Andy’s Room in “Toy Story” to Metro City with The Incredibles.  And you can count on your favorite characters from  “Toy Story,” “The Incredibles,” “Cars” and “Up.”

Some activities kids can enjoy are: face painting, a balloon artist and a boot camp with Sarge, while an interactive DJ will spin hits from Radio Disney (he’s going to be in a “Cars”-inspired DJ rig from Radiator Springs).  Dinner is buffet style.  Then at midnight, head outdoors for a viewing of the Magic Kingdom fireworks.  Hours are 8 p.m.-12:15 a.m.

“Down in New Orleans: A Disney New Year’s Eve Dining Experience”

This is the last New Year’s party, and also the most elegant.  Enjoy fine dining in the Grand Republic Ballroom, which is decorated French Quarter style like the animated film: “The Princess and the Frog.”

As far as eats go you can’t get any better than this: oyster beignets, smoked salmon mousse cones with caviar, Kobe beef tartare and sheep’s milk ricotta gnocchi.  Signature dishes will include herb-crusted Louisiana redfish, crayfish etouffee, Balck Angus beef cooked two ways, braised short ribs and filet of beef with truffled celery root silk.  My mouth is watering already!

Not only will there be amazing food, but also a New Orleans jazz band will be playing during dinner, and later joined by a vocalist who will bring to life the Academy-Award-winning classics from the film.  After, slip outside with a glass of bubbly just before midnight to ring in 2018 with a private viewing area for the Magic Kingdom fireworks.  Hours are 7 p.m.-12:15 a.m.
