Earlier this month we showed you pictures of the work going on for Rivers of America and how it was drained and the tracks replaced for the Liberty Square Riverboat. Well that work isn’t complete quite yet and now the Liberty Square Riverboat refurbishment has been extended through December 2018 in Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
If we head over to Disney’s Magic Kingdom and go down on the walkway in Frontierland, you can see the current state of the Rivers of America and Liberty Square Riverboat refurbishment:
The Liberty Square Riverboats was supposed to open in Fall 2018, but now according to the Walt Disney World refurbishment schedule that doesn’t look like it will happen till December 2018 or even January 2019 if things continue moving slowly.
No Riverboat in sight though the Rivers of America has been refilled:
This is how the river looked just weeks ago when they were replacing the track under the water:
We’ll keep you posted when Disney makes the Liberty Square Riverboat re-opening official…

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
