Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory Closing through the Fall

Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory

If you are staying at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort at Walt Disney World these next few months I have good news and bad news for you.  It’s always better to get the bad news out of the way first, so the food court in the resort which is called: Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory will be closing on July 11 for a very lengthy refurbishment and remodeling.  It will be closed at least for a couple of months and as of now the re-opening date is planned for sometime in the fall.  With the speed at which Disney moves on construction projects, I would expect no earlier than October, so if you are staying there before then don’t plan on it being open.

Beignets!!!!

Now I did mention good news, and that is the French Quarter will be offering guests another dining option in Scat Cat’s Lounge which will be serving Jambalaya, Gumbo, Po-Boy sandwiches, and most importantly…those delicious Beignets!!!  If you are the dining plan don’t worry, because you will be able to use your credits at the temporary dining location.  You can also take a little walk over to Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside and eat in the Riverside Mill Food Court or enjoy an amazing prime rib at Boatwright’s Dining Hall.

I’ll let you know as soon as I have more info on when it’s reopening

Let me know what you think of the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory closing for refurbishment in the comments section below.  As always I really appreciate it if you help spread the word, so if you liked this post and my site then please share it with others!  Thanks! 🙂
