This comes as no shock, but Flight of Passage is back in the news for….well, being awesome! Last night Flight of Passage won a Visual Effects Award from the Visual Effects Society (VES). This is an annual awards which salutes outstanding visual effects in films, television and other media. Flight of Passage won the awards for “Outstanding Visual Effects” in a Special Venue Project.
If you haven’t been on Flight of Passage in Pandora: The World of Avatar yet, then you need to get over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and go on it now. Flight of Passage is a flight simulator ride, which takes you over the world of Pandora on the back of a banshee. Everything from the incredible visuals, the sounds, the wind rushing in your face and the contractions of the banshee’s breathing under your legs together make up an experience like you’ve never had before. I can best sum it up by my friend Gaddiel’s reaction when he wen’t on it the first time: “I cried tears of joy.” Even before you get on you will be stunned as Flight of Passage is home to arguably the best ride queue in all Walt Disney World, and makes the hours you sometimes have to wait in line pass in what seems like minutes.
Flight of Passage isn’t new to awards as it won a TEA Award (Themed Entertainment Association) for “Outstanding Attraction”, and Pandora itself won for “Theme Park Area Development.”
Congratulations Flight of Passage and Pandora, for making 2017 an incredible year which saw record attendance in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
