For some months now we’ve been waiting for any information about the upcoming Jungle Cruise film, and up till now we’ve only known that Dwane Johnson (The Rock) will be the male lead. Now we know who his leading lady will be. According to Variety, Emily Blunt will star in the Jungle Cruise Film with The Rock, this after much interest on Disney’s part for some time.
This Jungle Cruise film project has been in the works for a over ten years, and it now finally looks like it’s good to go! Jungle Cruise will follow in the footsteps of other Disney attractions turned films, with the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise having had massive success since it first came out in 2003.
Now The Rock will play the lead in Jungle Cruise along with Emily Blunt, who will play a “scientist who teams up with Johnson’s riverboat captain on the hunt for a magical cure.” Of course Blunt is no stranger to Disney films having been in “Into the Woods” and she’s playing everyone’s favorite British nanny in “Mary Poppins Returns” which comes out this December.
No word yet on a Jungle Cruise release date, but filming should begin in the next few months.

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
