The Walt Disney World Resort announced today that they will be closing 3 Children's Activity…
A few months back we shared with you the news of Disney’s new Digital Key technology and all its benefits, and now we’re happy to tell you that the Digital Key is available in all Walt Disney World Resort hotels and Disney Vacation Club properties.
If you’re not familiar with it yet, much like Disney’s MagicBands, this new Digital Key technology allows Walt Disney World guests to open their hotel rooms quickly and easily using their bluetooth enabled device. This gives guests the option to use either one just in you forget your MagicBand in the room or you simply like to use your phone more. In addition you can use the Digital Key to open common areas of your Walt Disney World Hotel like gates, fitness centers, elevators, club lounges, etc. And it comes with a cool digital effect of the sound of pixie dust filling the air as your hotel door opens.
When launched in April only a few hotels used it, but the initial roll-out went so well that now hotel guests in any Walt Disney World Resort hotel can take advantage of this cool new technology from the My Disney Experience app. The Digital Key can also be used to skip the lines at the front desk on check-in and go directly to their rooms. But in-park things like your park tickets, buying merchandise, etc are still only possible to do with your MagicBands.
I’m interested to hear from you to see what your experience has been with this new Digital Key!
Here’s a video from Disney explaining everything you need to know about the Digital Key:
