VIDEO: New Avengers: Endgame Trailer and We Finally See Thanos

With only about 3 weeks to go till release, Marvel Studios has just dropped a new Avengers: Endgame trailer this morning and we got the news that tickets for Endgame are now on sale!

Let’s take a look at the latest trailer, plus the other trailers before this one:

Newest Avengers Trailer (with Thanos):

(UPDATE 4/2/19): In the latest trailer we get to see more of our favorite super heroes rallying to come together to defeat Thanos, and we actually get to see Thanos himself in the trailer too!!

The exciting part about this new trailer is that previously we haven’t seen a whole lot of action and what happens in the actual battle/s. And where the heck has Thanos been this whole time?? Now we finally get to see him…

First we get a few new shots of the Avengers in their headquarters still dealing with the defeat and loos of their friends:

One of the saddest parts was watching Tony’s reaction when looking at a photo of him and Peter:

I like the part when Tony is giving a speech and he says: “It’s not about how much we lost, but about how much we have left.”

Then you get a special shot of Tony and Steve reuniting and Tony asks him if he trusts him, and Cap says “Yes.”

Makes me wanna cry…??

We get a new shot of Tony flying through the air over what looks like NYC:

Once they get a plan together, they all jump onboard the Milano to get revenge:

There are a lot of shots in what looks like the battle ground where they go up against Thanos, though I think there will be multiple battles against him and this is only the first, before they learn how to use quantum energy and the multiverse:

In his typical Thanos smugness, he let’s the Avengers know any attempt against him will be futile:

Avengers Official Trailer (3/14/19):

First as we take a look at the new Avengers: Endgame poster, we can see all of the remaining Avengers members not taken by the snap in Infinity War. We even get a look at Thanos in the background, who has been pretty quiet since the end of Infinity War and is still missing in the trailer itself.

Let’s get into our breakdown of the trailer…

So about half of it are clips from the old films. Avengers: Endgame is a climatic turning point in the MCU and Kevin Feige has stated that things are going to be much different after Endgame in the next MCU movies. Plus with all the rumors of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth possibly leaving the MCU, Endgame really feels like a farewell to the characters we all fell in love with 20 films ago.

If this is the end, they are going out with a bang.

Right off at the start we get a montage of the original Avengers and seeing their story through the MCU. We get a look at Tony as he’s becoming Iron Man with him speaking leaving a message for Pepper through his helmet:

We then get a look back at Steve Rogers before becoming Captain America:

We then get that shot again of the Ronan version of Hawkeye in an Asian city after having fought somebody. He’s visibly shaken, and it probably has to do with the loss of his family. Black Widow approaches and they even hold hands:

Flashback to Thor and Odin, showing everything he’s lost too:

Our remaining characters talk about all their friends they lost in the snap:

The flashbacks end and we get brought up to present day in the aftermath of the Infinity War events. You can see Ant-Man looking at a telephone poll littered with missing ads of people that died:

Natasha must convince Hawkeye to come back to the Avengers base and you know he wants some revenge:

They talk about how it’s probably going to be impossible to get their friends back, but they are going to try:

One of the worst kept secrets of Avengers: Endgame was their suits which are either their space suits or they have something to do with the multiverse which they will need to travel through to get Thanos. I tend to think it’s the second option because Thor, Rocket and the other space-based avengers have them too but they obviously don’t need them to travel in space:

They look pretty sharp though!

There aren’t a whole bunch of shots of what the Avengers are actually doing though to stop Thanos in this film. Marvel is trying as hard as possible to keep as many spoilers away as possible and still the majority of this new trailer is mostly them planning for the attack, not the attack itself.

However we do get a pretty cool shot of Rocket on top of War Machine in the middle of what looks like a big battle:

The shot of Nebula I think is new, but it looks very similar to her charge back on Titan in Infinity War:

This shot of Captain America definitely looks new. The more I see the few shots in this part of the trailer though, the more it makes me think back to the vision Tony had in Avengers: Age of Ultron where he saw them all dead.

We know that has been tormenting Tony ever since, and while I don’t see all of them dying in front of Tony like that, it may very well be the same place the final battle against Thanos takes place.

Thor is wearing the same armor from Infinity War, but it still looks like a new scene.

And lastly we get a shot of Thor meeting Captain Marvel, and her getting his shield of approval. Wouldn’t it be funny if these two ended up getting a love story together?

My overall thoughts about the new Avengers: Endgame trailer are that it’s going to be really epic. I think there are going to be a lot of twists fans aren’t expecting, and of course to get things back to “normal” there are going to have to be sacrifices made (Captain or Tony are at the top of the list to make them).

Marvel has really done well keeping this whole film under-wraps because they are essentially only showing us pieces of the film where they are planning to attack, but we still have no idea what that entails or how they are going to do it, where they are going to go etc.

I guess we’ll all have to be in theaters April 26 to see Avengers: Endgame when it comes out!
