Next weekend’s opening of Pandora: The World of Avatar is going to be huge, and Disney has announced there are going to be additional attractions open for the Pandora opening weekend Extra Magic Hours event outside the Pandora attractions.
Such attractions will include: Expedition Everest, Primeval Whirl, Triceratops Spin, Tree of Life Awakenings, a third showing of Rivers of Light, Fossil Fun Games, and the Discovery Island Carnivale. I’m not sure that it’s going to matter much as everyone and their mother is going to be in Pandora, but it will be a nice opportunity to ride Expedition Everest like 10 times in a row without waiting in line if that’s your kinda thing!
This Extra Magic Hours event in the Animal Kingdom will run from 11pm -1am from May 27th – May 29th. It’s unclear if Disney will open other Animal Kingdom attractions during other Extra Magic Hours events in the Animal Kingdom that continue through July 4th.
I also suspect that Disney will add additional Extra Hours Events that continue on past July 4th. Disney is a bit slow to announced these especially since they want to see how well attended the current ones in Pandora are before making more.
Please keep in mind the Pandora Opening Weekend Extra Magic Hours event is opening just to guests staying at a Disney World Resort. Stay tuned so you’ll be able to plan your visit accordingly.

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
