According to wdwmagic.com Splash Mountain will be closing in August for a long 3 month refurbishment. It will be down from August 28th – November 16th. The timing on it is a little strange because usually Splash Mountain refurbs happen more in January when the crowds are low and the weather is cold. Many guests would love to ride it in the fall when the Florida temperatures are still usually boiling.
Maybe there was a need to have it done before the holiday period?

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.

August does seem an odd month to close a water ride but for my family we will be going the last week in November so it stays on schedule we will be good.

wow, you are lucky, you make it just in time! Many people i've talked to today and yesterday are rightly upset because of the timing. idk, I guess Disney has it's reasons...
