I for one am usually skeptical about remakes of films, especially from animated films to live-action ones, and even more especially changing classics that we have all loved for decades. Very rarely do they live up to the hype. However recently Disney is having success in this department with great success and rave reviews about the live-action version of “The Jungle Book” and now they are attempting it again.
In fact, Disney has just released the first teaser trailer for the new live-action version of its animated masterpiece “Beauty and the Beast.”
I have to say I’m very impressed by what I’ve seen so far. We get our first look at the Beast’s Castle, Emma Watson as Belle and we can hear the voices of Ewan McGregor and Ian McKellen (Lumiere and Cogsworth) Where is the Beast though? He was mysteriously missing. I love the time-lapse that we see in the castle, really spooky.
This is a star-studded cast and being such an important film in the Disney lineup I can’t imagine they will do it sloppy or cheap. I for one am happy they are bringing this classic back, it will also make the story relevant again in the parks. We’ve seen such huge success in the Magic Kingdom with Be Our Guest restaurant and now a new Beauty and the Beast attraction is coming to Tokyo Disneyland, and who knows what else will follow in the future. I am for one looking forward to finding out.
“Beauty and the Beast” will be released nationwide on March 17th, 2017
