One of the trends lately in the Disney Parks has been to include dessert parties with that park’s nighttime spectacular, letting guests enjoy some delicious snacks with a reserved view of the show. Well today Disney has just announced that a Rivers of Light Dessert Party is coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in August.
Starting August 12, 2018, guests will enjoy a beautiful buffet of Disney’s Animal Kingdom-themed desserts, snacks, and drinks before enjoying VIP views of “Rivers of Light.” If you’ve been to Happily Ever After Dessert Party or the Frozen Dessert Party in Epcot, then you’ll be familiar with the setup. The buffet will include: house-made desserts, snacks, specialty alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, iced tea, lemonade, and water. You can see some of the desserts in the above photo.
Guests will check in at 8:15pm, 60 minutes prior to the start of Rivers of Light at the Rivers of Light Asia Viewing Area Terrace located across from Expedition Everest. Once the show is close to starting, head down to the special VIP Seating Area for amazing views of Rivers of Light!
Prices are $79 for Adults and $47 for kids (both prices are including tax). You can make reservations by visiting the Walt Disney World Website or calling 407 WDW-DINE (407 939-3463).
If you haven’t seen Rivers of Light yet, it’s a really unique show which celebrates animals and life. The show is set on the water and uses a blend of fountains, lights and floats in a really beautiful way. The show has some flaws and had many delays in getting open, but overall we like it and think you should check it out at least once.

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
