As you know, Toy Story Land just opened up June 30th, and one the coolest additions is the brand new Toy Story Mania queue. Of course Toy Story Mania has been a part of Hollywood Studios for years but now instead of the entrance and queue being accessible from Pixar Place (which already lost its name) they’ve been moved to the opposite side of the building in order to flow better with Toy Story Land.
If you haven’t been able to visit Toy Story Land yet don’t worry, we’ve taken photos of the new Toy Story Mania queue to give you a virtual tour and all its details. And you can also take a whole tour of Toy Story Land itself. Let’s take a look!
This is Pixar Place, where the old entrance to Toy Story Mania was. It was also called “Toy Story Midway Mania” but apparently beside the physical change, Disney also wanted to give it a name change, dropping the Midway part..
Now Pixar Place looks like this:
As I mentioned before, you now have to enter Toy Story Land, where after passing the Woody figure on the right you’ll find the entrance to Toy Story Mania immediately on the left:
As you’ll notice with the rest of the buildings in Toy Story Land, the marquee for Toy Story Mania is made of “cardboard” from the boxes of the games that Andy bought. Jessie and Rex welcome guests as they enter:
Further down from the entrance you see another box, this one with Mr Potato Head, Woody and the rest of the gang:
It looks pretty similar to the concept art for Toy Story Mania Disney released a while back just changing the “carnival” to “midway” on the sign:
Let’s go in:
Taking a page from the boardwalk games of old of which Toy Story Mania emulates itself:
In the second part of the queue the boardwalk games theme continues and you enter the box you see on the outside. There are assembly instructions for correctly putting it together…
Once you come out of the box you enter a cute winding area with Bo-Peep:
Crayola Crayons:
I really like this part, especially the view of Slinky Dog Dash
Thirsty? Grab a drink in one of the dominoes water fountains:
Let’s get out of the heat and into the A/C:
This is the first room that’s inside and is built to resemble a boardwalk amusement park:
Barrel of Monkeys:
Besides the physical location of the queue being different, another big addition to the Toy Story Mania queue is the Play Disney Parks app. This is going to change the way Walt Disney World guests wait in line for the attractions, keeping them engaged with their surroundings. Each of the 4 current attraction queues that use the Play Disney Parks app has a different game to try. In the Toy Story Mania queue you can play “Playset Party.” In the limited time I’ve been able to use the app it’s been pretty fun and I like how it makes you interact with your surroundings, teaching you quite a bit. I ‘m looking forward to seeing this continue to develop.
Hamm, Wheezy and Bo-Peep getting ready to play the game:
A Peter Pan slide from a Viewfinder toy:
The next room moves away from the boardwalk and to more traditional games like Monopoly, Etch-a-Sketch, etc:
More Dominoes:
Oh yeah…Tinker Toys!! 🙂
And the biggest surprise…. Mr. Potato Head makes a comeback, now with even more realistic movements and animations:
He’s so funny….love all the jokes!! ??
After Mr. Potato Head you get your glasses and they lead you up the stairs and into the loading area which is the same as before:
After you’ve had a blast on Toy Story Mania, it’s time for the exit which is also brand new:
This is the room they were using as the entrance temporarily the last couple weeks:
We’d better listen, don’t want to end up behind bars like him:
Bart reference:
After the initial indoors part of the exit, the rest of it is outdoors:
Love the Barrel of Monkeys overhead!
Green Army Men and a helicopter made from Kinex:
The DynoGlider that’s also in the Toy Story Playland in Disneyland Paris:
That wraps up the new Toy Story Mania queue, hope you enjoyed it! I really enjoyed the extended queue and all the different sections. My favorite was seeing Mr. Potato Head back in action after a long hiatus. I think it’s a big upgrade over the previous queue (even though that was awesome too) and you’re really going to like exploring it for yourself and finding all the toy references.

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
