Farm Fresh was a popular Food and Wine Marketplace last year because of the Loaded Mac and Cheese. Well that’s now moved over to the Active Eats Booth, and now it serves up a Roasted Beet Salad and Crispy Chicken w/ griddled cornbread. So is Farm fresh still worth a stop? Let’s see how what’s left in this Farm Fresh Review: 2017 Epcot Food and Wine Festival….
Farm Fresh Marketplace:
The Farm Fresh booth itself is essentially unchanged from last year and still located as the first booth on the left side when entering from Future World:
Farm Fresh Menu:
Farm Fresh has some making up to do this year as it’s down to only 2 food options instead of 3, and it lost it’s most popular one, the Loaded Mac and Cheese. That said the Crispy Chicken sounds like an upgrade over the Chicken dumplings last year:
Food:
- Crispy Chicken with Griddled Cornbread and Red Eye Gravy – $4.75, DDP Snack Credit
- Roasted Beet Salad with Green Beans, Feta Cheese, Minus 8 Vinaigrette and Toasted Walnuts (Gluten-Free) – $3.75, DDP Snack Credit *Ziggy Recommended
Beverages:

- Gumption Citrus Freak Hard Cider, Middlebury, VT – $4.00
- Woodchuck Raspberry Hard Cider, Middlebury, VT -$4.00
- Two Henrys Elderberry Cream Hard Cider, Plant City, FL – $4.00

Menu Review:
First up was the Roasted Beet Salad with Green Beans, Feta Cheese, Minus 8 Vinaigrette and Toasted Walnuts (Gluten-Free) was even better! This thing was huge and loaded with stuff! Some people actually like to eat health when coming to Food and Wine (not me as you’ve noticed) and this makes an excellent option. Tastes very fresh and just feels healthy. Raspberry vinaigrette was light and refreshing, especially in the heat. Beets and beans were cooked perfectly, not soggy or too crisp, but just right. LOVED the candied walnuts on top too, and they were plenty! It’s also one of the best Gluten-free options of the festival too. Definitely a stand-out
So all the good we did by having a nice and healthy option first was totally undone with the second one, the Crispy Chicken with Griddled Cornbread and Red Eye Gravy! 😉 Definitely an upgrade over last year as I will never say no to fried chicken smothered in gravy on cornbread! The chicken was really good, loved the breading which was nice and crisp without being dry! Very nicely seasoned too! The piece wasn’t huge but a decent enough sized portion. I argued with the others that the cornbread was a little dry, they said no me yes. It did have a great flavor though, had a little sweet honey flavoring which was great. Overall a pretty good option and an improvement from last year for sure!
Booth Summary and Grade:
Overall I would say that Farm Fresh goes down a notch from last year as it now only has 2 options instead of 3. However both options are really strong ones with believe it or not the Roasted Beet Salad scoring slightly higher for us than the Crispy Chicken, though both were excellent! Farm Fresh needs more though, either another savory option or a dessert for it to compete with the big boys. We’ll see what next year brings…
If you have to get just one thing: Roasted Beet Salad (can’t believe I’m saying this!)
Grade: 7.5

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.
